Throttle profile is literally like exponential in your radio, it has no relationship to timing.

Turbo ramp rate only affects turbo:

1.0 ramp rate is(up to) 20 degrees in 1 second meaning that if you had 20 degrees set, it takes a full second spent at full throttle to attain the 20 degrees.

2.0 ramp rate is(up to) 40 degrees in 1 second OR 20 degrees in half a second.

3.0 ramp rate is(up to) 60, etc.

Since we limit the turbo where we do you don't get that much timing but you get the picture.(I hope).

TC 13.5 : 3,500/12,500
1/12 17.5: 1,000/7,000
Offroad 13.5: 3,500/20,000

These are my personal experiences. I of course would change these based off driver input and track settings/conditions.

This is why our team got this software first. I will be compiling the team setups and posting them on the website as soon as I can guys.
thx ill play around this and see what happends

Hey Guys,

Anyone got a decent setup for the new vegas software for 17.5 TC.

I've read all the posts since it's release but no one has posted a setup for 17.5 TC.

FYI I'm running:
17.5 Tekin Brushless (Factory Timing)
Tekin RS Pro
IP 5000 40C lipo 2S
T2 009
For medium sized track with medium grip.

Can someone post their setup please?

Drag Brake:
Brake Strength:
Neutral Width:
Throttle Profile:
Timing Boost:
Turbo Boost:
Turbo Delay:
Mode:
End RPM:
Start RPM
Turbo Ramp:
FDR:

Help would be very much appreciated.

Cheers

Hey Senna,

I have looked 10 pages back and can;t seem to find any. The only one I found close to it is the 17.5 1S setup for the 1/12 pan cars. Is this the one your referring to?

I have been using the RC Dynamics voltage booster designed by Mark Jordan (a UK 12th scale racer) and I've had no problems at all. Fixed all the various problems I've had with other boosters, and gave me no problems after the software update.

I've just put a review of it up at www.carsrcracing.co.uk. Mark is working on it becoming more generally available.

Default 17.5

From what I have trolled through so far, these seem to be the setups that have been posted.

For what it's worth.

A very nice feeling and fast setup for 17.5 tc on a 100x36 track was:

Drag Brake: 22(lots of 180's)
Throttle profile: 4
Timing boost: 50
Turbo boost: 5
Turbo delay: .2
End RPM: 18k
Start RPM: 8k( or close to that after calc)
Turbo ramp: 2.0

FDR: 5.5

Jaco Blues on my T3

Car was rediculous and the temps were low. I run a speedpassion V3 motor, it is a 0-10degree motor, so put it in the middle. This is not going to be my final setup, but had a decent amount of time to test and tune over the past couple of days to try things out. Now if i can only keep the car from spinning the tires in the sweeper

I recieved tons of calls from folks and am gonna have them come here to just look it up, lol.

Enjoy!

Tim Stamper
KennyL

This is the starting point and change as required.

Start here
profile 5
boost 50
turbo 10
delay .1 adjust if more or less is needed on straight
ramp 3
end rpm 7000-6000 (7000 for longer tracks and 6000 for shorter)
start 2400-2500ish

make sure to temp 2 minutes in no matter what

I did break the track record with our new configuration, but the car still didn't seem quite as fast as it could of been.
Here's what I ended the day off at:
35 Drag Brake
75 Brake Strength
Profile 3
40 Timing Boost
Max Turbo
0.1 Boost Delay
Start RPM ~4800
End RPM ~14000
6.9 FDR

I do not think you need any turbo for that size track at all. My home track is only 65 feet long and turbo is just no play. It just adds unwanted heat to the motor. Your end rpm seems a little high also. I would not think your turbo would even kick in with that high of an end rpm.
Dannyb

Well, after 2 days of testing, I settled on:

35 Drag Brake
75 Brake Strength
Throttle Profile 3
50 Boost
10 Turbo
0.1 Delay
3 Ramp
Start: ~5000
End: ~18000
5.88 FDR

Broke our track record again by about 3 tenths, and the car was super consistent. Small track 50x30.
Stiltskin 17.5

Not a bad day at the track today. I really wanted to play around with the settings but I honestly had to learn how to drive my car again. This software is ridiculously fast. Instead of working on different settings, I ended up updating other cars and trying to explain how the new software works. I did manage to TQ and drop my best time by 7 seconds. I still have a lot to learn and I'm still blowing corners. The torque is amazing for 17.5. ROAR can't make me run mod, but Tekin just did. Here's what I ran in 17.5 / rubber / carpet. Track is 96x40:

Duo2 timing: 0
Throttle: 3
Boost: 50
Turbo: 10
Delay: 0
Ramp: 2
Drag: 30
End RPM: 12000
Start: 6680
FDR: 5.76

Motor came off at 180 and ran hard all day. I'd like to smooth it out a little more, so I'll be playing with RPMs tomorrow. Great stuff Tekin.
That is what I have gleaned so far.

Later,

Calvin.

Default Set up for 1/12th pan car 1S lipo 10.5

Used the new software yesterday,After a bit of trial and error settled on the following. Car was awasomely quick and was the equal of most of the Nim cars.
Still not settled on the end RPM and range so may need a little tweaking. Also on one run had push set too 25.As it happened this was my fast run. But came too the conclusion why have push if you have Drag brake. Some one might want tooo comment on this one.

Track carpet 100ft X 40FT (30mt x 12mt)
Fast and flowing.
Motor redline 10.5 timing set too zero
car a speedmerchant rev5 l

drag 5
brake 100
rev off
neutral 5
bl-fw
throttle 4
push off
timing boost 45
turbo 10
1S lipo
turbo delay 0.5
sensored
end RPM 10,500
4278-----8569
ramp 2

If they ban the speedo, then the development money will go on the motors, and the same thing will happen. If they ban the motors, then the development money will go on the cars. If they ban the cars... you get the picture!! Racers always want to go faster, and manufacturers will find a way to do that - and we will buy it! Why ban something when...

Yes. EFRA only bans telemetry that is used during the race.

I stopped using it on my old SPX as it seemed to cause lots of problems with motors.

Thanks

any braking in a BL creates heat and uses battery capacity. Brake in a BL is created by firing the coils against the magnet. Firing the coils takes battery power, and running against the magnet creates heat. HTH

Agreed! Be careful with boosters that cost less than a Novak! Most boosters on the market are not up to the job of powering the speedo and a digital servo. We have one in the UK that ticks all the boxes, and is totally reliable. See this thread for details (http://www.rcracechat.com/vb/showthr...632#post400632) and this site for a review (http://www.carsrcracing.co.uk/). Stick to a receiver pack if in doubt. HTH
