well guys, I have finally finsihed my g4s completely.

the engine is broken in but not tuned, but the car is fully dialed in via TM setup gauges and HUdy ride and height gauges, and a futuba S9451 (?) its a digital coreless servo, 120oz, .10sec.

the car also has its own body now, a stratus 3.1mm, I am testing this car out on sunday and hopefully ti will hook up well and I can laid down some laps.

wish me luck!

That's great! What type of front axle are you going to be running and what weight oil did you put in the diff(s)?

Some quick questions:

1. Anybody besides gansei running the 4mm chassis? How has it changed the handling of the car?

2. How much run time do you get out of the 800mAh receiver pack?

Thanks!

Are you going to be running on a sweeping track or on a track with a lot of sharp and/or 180 turns where you will need to use your brakes a lot?

I found the 4mm chassis took away a little steering initially since it is much stiffer than the standard chassis. This was easily overcome with a spring change.

When my RX pack was new, I could run practive, 4 x 5min qualifiers and a 10min a-main without recharging. When it got a bit older I just recharged it before the a-main. Also remember these batteries (like any battery really) need a few cycles to start delivering their best.

I've now got the TM 1100Mah pack so I'll report back on how that goes.

Cheers,

Mike.

Rainer

I run 1 hour mains with my 800mah stock pack, with one digital Ko Propo servo on steering (2143) and one analog in throttle-brake (2173), they both deliver 8.0kg torque 0.08 /0.09 sec /60º speed.

Had no problems so far, but will be upgrading to 1,100mah to be able to use both digitals servos, because as you know digitals suck more amps.

-> car turn activity was some mild in 4mm

so i used 3mm chassis in technical track
and i used 4mm chassis in high speed, mild track

2. How much run time do you get out of the 800mAh receiver pack?

-> i am using sanyo eneloop 800mA.
i did not test total run time. But it is sufficient to complete A-main Final(30-45minutes)

Thanks for your help.

There are a few more important things to consider... How many holes are you using in your shock pistons??? What are your droop settings front and rear??? What are your roll-center settings??? Who set your car up for you and what tools were used??? There's alot more that could be asked, just know that your shock springs are just one of many things that need to be looked at/consider while trying to set your car up for a bumpy track... You never said how the traction was as well... Help the G4 drivers here that post here by filling in the blanks and I'm sure someone can give you the useful tips and settings you're looking for... 02

its an open wide sweeping track, but this is just practice not a real race.
