Use locktite. The good thing about the new car is you dont have to take the bulkheads off to change setup.

It is always a good idea to use Blue Loc-tite on any screw that is going into metal.

NO....DON"T DO THAT!!!!
Will not be able to get the screws out IF you need to.Trust me.
Do what you want but ....I don't recommend it.
I use a dab of oil on my screws on my 05 just to get them out when I want.

I don't know what kind of Loc-tite you are using, but BLUE loc-tite will come loose when you need it too. I have been using it at work and on all of my RC cars for over 5 yrs. Never had a screw or bolt that I couldn't get loose when I needed it.....

Now if you use RED loc-tite...you are not getting it loose NEVER EVER... LOL

You dont even lock tight your wheel screws? I bet you have wheels flying off all the time, mostly if you run a solid spool.

I agree, no loc-tite on my car, everything stays very tight... the LF wheel is the only thing that starts to back off when running a spool... but never enough to lose a wheel

Some drivers experience loose screws, and others do not. The ones that do not, and have tried loctite, have had to drill screws out of the bulkheads at times.

I would suggest you put it together without the loctite first and put it through an entire race day. Then check the screws and use the loctite if you need it.

The various opinions may just be a matter of differing hand/arm strengths (torque).

I use a dab on the wheel screws but let it dry first. It then seems to last forever.

dont loctite anything on an xray in my opinion. I had a wheel fall off the first time I ever drove an xray and that was it but you wont have that problem with the T2. The screws grab the aluminum really good. Just check your screws every couple of races.

Working on my T2 now.

Also to fix the spur problem. Cant you just countersink the spur gear and use countersunk screws to fix it? I haven't got that far and am just guessing.

I don't think loctite is needed either. For the screws coming loose on the wheels, just make sure the coned washers are in good condition and haven't gone flat.

Good idea. I hadn't thought of that. The screws mounting my 64p PRS spur gear were contacting the composite bearing holder at first and causing it to bind. I sanded the heads down about .5mm with a dremel and all is well since then. Less rotating mass may be an added benefit. J/K
