The esc I'm running is a flow out of my offroad 4w. I'm looking in to other esc's as well.

Most places follow UF1 of 1050g. You can check with the track(s) you'll be racing at though since you're in SoCal most likely UF1 weight rule.

Ok. So I'm at 1070 grams with the body. Close enough.

On another note, I'll be running on a carpet track and was recommended to run the ride height about 3.5mm and about 0.5-1.0mm of rear droop. For those that run on carpet, have you tried this setup and how has it worked for you so far? Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm at 4mm rh and mine pushes like a beast. The more droop I gave it the more turn in I got but cannot get rid of the mid corner push.

I've tested the links with toe, middle to outside holes and that improved steering, but not enough.

I don't have a TRF101 but with my F104 v2 3.5mm is what I set the r.h. at for carpet. Traction rolling is still possible at that height but it is greatly reduced.

Has the TRF101 been discontinued by Tamiya? Spare parts aren't available anywhere and its listed on the Tamiya website as being discontinued.

Hello to everybody,
I just got my trf101. I would like to ask for a set-up with this car and R1 ride tires on asphalt with 21.5 motor and stock esc. Is it possible to have links to a set-up sheet or any advice.
many thanks

I hope it isn't discontinued. Tq had a few parts. Mine is coming in a few days.

I emailed Tamiya USA and they replied back that the TRF 101 was a limited release, so they aren't producing any more. TQ barely has replacement parts for it. My buddy broke the drive shaft and can't find a replacement anywhere in stock for it.

Classic Tamiya. You really have to get the hopups/spares when they release the vehicle. Otherwise you're up a creek later.
