Martin,

Do you know the rates in lb/in for the springs you were running? HPI has made a lot of different pink and silver springs.

I have just ordered a Schumacher Mi-4LP Race Touring - Kit.
It was for sale for £124.00!

I have read that this car have a problem with drive shafts.
Do you know what drive shafts should i buy that will be durable?

Do the Mi4CX drive shafts fit and if yes, should i choose the alloy or the steel version?

Do the Mi-4LP Race have any other weak spots?

CX stuff wont fit. Much thicker pin on the bone.

What you want are THESE and you'll probably only need them for the front for the time being. Front takes a lot more abuse. Might be worth checking ebay for them as people are converting to CX style

If the axles are steel you might be able to get away with just buying the bones at £5 each

theres nothing wrong with the stock drive shafts. yes if you hit something hard they MAY bend. on the lp there is a issue with the black blades, change them for the tan ones but just on the front

I beg to differ, My mate has fitted the CX drive shafts to his Lp, But you do need to buy the CX Spool and CX diff.

In reality you only need to change the fronts - the rears will last forever, even with the original black blades. Fronts get way more abuse due to the spool.

The biggest issue with the "race" version IMO are the shocks. It came with the old style Schumacher shocks (from 1997), which are nowhere near as good as the current ones, a real pain to build... although it is possible to get them equal and smooth, it will not happen if built by a beginner

The original question was" do the cx driveshafts fit?". They don't without further modifications to the car. You could say all the CX parts fit the race spec but you would need to replace 90% if the car

My 1st Club meet today with the new car getting and off to a great start with the Tq and Win. I didn't have the fastest car as we have a new track lay out and i was playing with the HW settings but its such an easy car to drive consistently no one could close in. My best con of the day was First qualifier where I pulled 0.19 so i was super stoked. Double thumbs up.
Set up sheet to follow.

I dont see any drive shafts made for the MI4, would Xray, Yokomo, or Tamiya shafts work? These look like they could be a nice substitute to the litemodz stuff

I ran the xray ecs's. You just have to enlarge the hole in the caster block.
