i ask because i was playing with an X12 4.5T (non-octa) yesterday and had the curent limit set at 80 and i noticed that the motor sounded a little "flat" when i was powering out of a tight corner which leads onto the main straight..

also, will one of the effects of lowering the current limit be to increase runtime?
should i see cooler temps on the esc and motor?

thanks in advance!

You are running 80% current limit, 100% being max limit, so yes it will feel very flat.
Might want to try lowering the limit to 20 or 30.

Maybe Randy can explain exactly how it works, but in terms of feel and raw speed, lower limit is faster than higher limiter.

Current limiter does exactly that. It limits the current through your speedo. Current is highest at lower speeds when the throttle full. If you lower it too much, you will loose rip out of the corners. Your top speed shouldn't be affected.

This should decrease motor temps. I would guess that it would increase your run time, but I haven't tested.

Thumbs up tekin rs

Thanks guys I've read all the settings and i understand what all of them. I also learned that some options can work with one another when it comes to certain track conditions. Thanks a lot 20 smoke for giving a basic setup for my tekin and the manual and also to hanulec.

is there a specific class + motor combo you are looking to race in? if so - post informatinon about:
- type of class - 1/10th 4wd touring; 1/12th; etc..
- type of surface
- size of track
- specific motor manufacture/model
- specific motor class (blinky or boosted/open)

and i suspect someone here can give you some pointers

well, 20 smoke gave me a setting for a 13.5 turn boosted class. the traction level is veeeery low. Its in a carpark and its very slightly diagonal. The straight is about 20-30 meters with a left hand sweep and the rest of corners are fairly fast.

Well i haven't gotten use it because my tc5r is having a over steering problem because i bought the car used and the previous owner used it for drifting. the problem is so bad that even though the esc is on tp1 without any timing or boost, when it the throttle, the car wheel spins and when i hit the brakes, it does a full 180 degrees to the left. I promise when i get finish rebuild the the car and put the factory settings on it I'll tell you how its working. This is actually my first time racing. I'm only 17.

Default Tekin RS

Has anyone ran a Mod 5.0 with a Tekin RS?

I plan on racing TC mod this weekend and have a 5.0 Thunder Power. It shows the limit is 5.0 turn for the RS but I wanted to see if anyone has actually ran one with it.

Do not run the regular RS with a 5.0t motor. It will thermal. 4wd TC is meant for an RS pro.
