Charts for Quick reference:

1) put inner bearing in hub
2) slide large shim over axle all the way up to the back of the axle
3) slide axle/bone into hub carrier
4) slide small shim onto axle through hub carrier
5) push outter bearing into hub carrier

using that i'm able to put my normal male silverback gorilla wheel nut tightening job and there's no binding. in the pictures that come with the shims (the pic socket posted) it seems like they want you to slide both shims onto the axle before sliding the axle into the hub carrier and like i said, that doesn't work.

I've traditionally done the diff screw head on the left side (driver's side), but have since switched to the Right side (passenger side) regardless of transmission type (3 gear RM vs 3 gear MM and 4 gear MM).

Kdub (Kurt Wenger, former AE designer) had this to say on the matter:

The right rear is the way the AE manuals state (or used to state). It really shouldn't matter since you go around turns both left and right.

Just picked up my pre-ordered B6d from the LHS. Started the front end before heading down to the local establishment for a refreshment. Going together great so far. These cars seem so minimalistic these days that they go together in no time.

Hate going down the cliche path but that's what I miss about the RC-10. There was a lot of hand fitting and fine tuning of parts to make better or smoother. Like to see someone get a 6 gear transmission to run smooth. This is a hobby and taking time to get it right was half the fun. I understand making parts better and fitament better but in a way it takes the fun out of it.

So I got my B6D today along with the lay down trans kit brass c mount and aluminum D mount. Plan to run 17.5 at OCRC. Will this work or do I stick with the stand up trans?

I bought the B6 with the gear diff, never ran a gear diff before.

How far up do i fill the fluid? I believe it's up to the cross bars of the planetary gears right?

I ran the MIP first I think. It was released before the stealth if i recall. My ultima had a much more free transmission out of the box.

Is anyone running the B5CE Fox shocks in the rear? I know the bodies are longer but is anyone using limiters until the right size is released?

NVM, just read the wiki about the truck fronts used in the rear
