Ok folks lets have a little recap of Saturdays racing action. We had some races that stayed close the entire race and some races that where come from behind saves. Anyway on to the recaps.

Novice. We saw a new face in novice today and that was Jacob Ridings. He struggled a bit with his 22 buggy but a little tuning should help that out. Matthew Jacobs took the lead early on only to drop out early handing his lead over to Andrew Jacobs who held it to the wire. Jacob Ridings finished in second and Matthew rounded out the top three from the pits.

1/10th scale buggy open saw Roger Lowery take TQ honors and the early lead until Kyle Melvin found his way around and held the lead till the end leaving Roger to finish second and Derek Fisher in third.

4wd shortcourse was once again the class to watch. Kyle Melvin took TQ honors but Jim Pate moved him out of the way on the first lap taking the early lead. Darren Hooker Managed to slide past Kyle to take second early on while Kyle struggled with his truck for the first minute or so. Kyle got it sorted out and began his charge first passing Darren and then running down Jim. The two battled it out for a bit but Kyle was the eventual winner with Jim following in second and Darren in third.

Stadium truck saw Roger Lowery TQ and lead the race from wire to wire. I struggled a bit with the pipe early on while Wayne Jacobs cruised on in second. I finally gathered myself up and began chopping away at gap between Wayne and myself. I caught up to him once only to stuff the pipe and then later managed to capitalize when Wayne did the same a couple of laps later. That left us with a finishing order of Roger in first followed by myself and then Wayne.

2wd Shortcourse This is the come from behind story of the day. Roger took off early with the lead and had a rather huge one till his truck started making some noise. He backed it down a bit to make the finish and Jim took began to reel him in but it took till the end of the last lap to catch Roger. Roger let it all hang out trying to beat him to the stripe but Jim slipped through coming over the last jump to take the win. Bill Horman rounded out the top three with his fresh XXX-Sct.

Hi everyone, there is a possibility that I will be going to SIU for engineering. I was very excited to find this track online and drove by today. I don't have the time right now (or a strong internet connection) to read very much of this thread. I have a few questions to ask about the track.

Is there ever open practice or is it all just racing?
Where do you guys get parts?
Do the F1 cars break very easily if you clip the corner of a turn?

Thanks!

I can answer the F1 question for you. It all depends on the car, some cars are like a tank and others not so much. From my personal experiance the Tamiya front end is really tough. We were having a dificult time with wheels, but that problem is being solved.
