Trinity and ReVtech Motors discussion

I see the brandy new REV1104 Revtech X-Factor 25.5T SPEC Class Brushless Motors for sale on eBay already. Is it safe to purchase one this early given that they still aren't available directly from Trinity? Seller looks legit and has four for sale.

Thanks! I went ahead and grabbed one off of ebay. Still haven't had a chance to run it yet in practice so it will make its debut in this Sundays VTA race! I'm very curious to see what the temps are with this rather extreme case design. The timing is set to 50 degrees on the can so I'm wondering what will mean down the straight. We'll see.

I have one on order from my LHS for my F1 and/or VTA - glad to see it won't disappoint

Is it normal for monster max timing endbells to want to shift? I ran my new 21.5 today for first time and timing came set at 51. After first practice run, I noticed car wasn't very fast so I pulled it off, timing was down to 10. I noticed I really had to hulk down on the screws to keep this from happening. If I didn't, the timing would slowly move throughout the run.

Inquiring for F1, but am guilty of building a VTA car since there is always a class for it here, Lol.

Has anyone put in enough time with the X-Factor to say if it benefits from a small spur/large pinion configuration? The benefit being either more torque or lower temps, etc.
I'm currently running 98S/48P. Performance is good but if this motor happens to run better with for example a 90S/45P, I'd give it a try.
