Maybe I'll get that futaba to replace the quasar pro. Anyone know the dims on that futaba? I've heard from someone it's a pretty big unit. Anyone confirm?
John. I heard that the unit is much smaller then your Turbo 35.
But weight wise, i think its heavier.

Jon and Randy did a great job at R/C HEAT! Jon is getting faster every month!

Randy is one hell of a driver! Second place this week! I think First is coming next week! This guy can fly! Your lap times were all consistant 12's

I looked at the times pulled from the Factory drivers and yours, you are only an average of 1/2 to 3/4 of second off them per lap.

Great Job guys!

Peace...

Oh fogot to mention, Randy took second in the A Main! All in all, he beat 44 others in 19T and Jon was 5th out of 44!

Way to represent guys!!!!!!

Thanks John. I'm having a lot of fun at your races. I just need to put a full day of racing together. I'm going to try and make the Castle Park races my regular travel races.

Next time out, I'll try to get the car to actually work, it was horrible yesterday.. Hopefully next time out, I'll get it running .5 second faster per lap and get that nice silver cup

Default powercube

Hi all.

Any one here got fukuyama's power cube cell set?
I was thinking of ordering it and before I do, I was hoping to get some info from people bought it.

Thank you.

THere for this week I am looking to buy a charger for my Fukuyama's.

Im willing to spend up to $200 for a charger.

My Front runner is the LRP competion charger.

What do you guys like and think?
From what I've been told, 10 amps is too little to discharge with. At least 20 or better 30 amps, will ensure that your packs stay punchy.

Off course, it'll depend on if you need a build in discharger...

Personally, I choosed the Integy/Eagle 16x5v6. Absolutely no problems with quality and finish so far. Many good features, including IR and average voltage measurement - even for single cells. So you can do some matching, if needed.

Hi,

As far as practice packs they are allright. Since they are not matched they will need a bit of extra care. For racing however i would go for the matched ones.

Regards

I've noticed that Promatch recommend a temp of 125-130 F, while Fukuyama recommend 135-155.

I've also noticed that my packs are hotter if I measure on the end of the cells (at the soldering bars), than compared to the side of cell.

So I'm in doubt of:

* where to measure the temp and,
* which temp will give best track performance and
* which temp will give the longest battery life? (not runtime)

Thanks.

Default Canadian Distributor?

I emailed the folks at http://www.rolin.ca/racing with no responses. Is there anybody else in Canada that sells your batteries? Shipping and duty from the US would be pretty expensive, but if I can't get them anywhere else. Thanks

They are great batteries. The only thing is they aren't matched based on runtime so you will need to equalize it before charge. The voltage ranges from 1.145 to 1.165. Runtimes between 380 to 410. It would be a nice cost alternative to matched cells. Now, if you compete in the National level, then I would suggest full blown matched packs. But for club level racing, they are way good.

Promatch is correct when they said 125 to 130 because they based the charge amps at 5 amps. For us, we recommend a slightly higher temp since the cells will heat up more when charged at 6 amps instead of 5. So indeed, both are accurate.

I normally temp the cells at the can and not at the top/solder joint. Remember that these GP3300 is capable of withstanding 200f when discharging but ideally, you want to stay below that. 170f to 180 f while discharging is optimum. This was tested at 30 amp discharge.

As for battery life, it really depends of how you take care of the batteries. DO NOT LEAVE IN COLD, DO NOT OVER CHARGE, DO NOT DEAD SHORT, DO NOT REVERSE POLARITY.
