Malin recently attended round #2 of the Swedish Cup @ Väst-8 in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Here is Leg 1 of the B-Main finals in 4WD Mod. buggy.
She held the 3rd spot for most of the race but finished 5th in this B-main Leg 1 after having problems overheating the ESC. She lost a place at 4:33 due to the ESC shutting down and lost her rhythm completely as the ESC continued to give her problems for the rest of the race. But still a very strong finish in a competitive B-main :-)
(Sorry for the crappy sound due to the strong winds)

Not a great day with the XB4, the rearward bearing on the slipper asembly dicided to let go in free practice at the beginning of day stripping the spur, I didn't have any bearings so had to rob one off the front diff, then only minutes later my mate wrecked the same bearing too, so he had the other bearing off the diff. I ran for the rest of the day as 2wd and didn't do very well
Has anyone else had problems with the kit bearings?? It wasnt a maintance issue because the whole car had every bearing cleaned just a few days ago as part of my race prep

Here's video from leg 2 of the B-finals in 4WD Mod. buggy @ Väst-8, Gothenburg.
For this second leg of the finals Malin held the 5th spot for a long time but started having problems again from 3:50 and out. She eventually dropped to 8th place due to the ongoing problems with the ESC. But again very pleased with the driving prior to the problems

Currently running the 44.2. Works pretty well and has been fairly durable. I'm considering selling it though and getting the XB4. Would prefer the gear diffs and higher quality plastics. Only problem is parts support locally is non-existent for the XRay. They stock just about everything for the AE. There also are a few locals that run the XB4 and seem to like it. Thoughts or suggestions from those who have experience with both? Any input or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

the XB4 out of the box is as close to perfect as any car can be with a factory setup on it . it does tend to understeer on power or light braking. This trait makes the car really easy to drive and it also means you can push the XB4 super hard and get super agressive with it and it wont bite you in the arse like the 44 did. i found the 44 was also prone to "tank slapping" from time to time. With a couple of small diff fluid and shock spring adjustments the XB4 is right on the money. I had a b44.2 sitting there waiting to be built. After my 1st meet with XB4 i sold it.

I have ran both, (b44.1 with bigbores atleast) chalk and cheese. 2 totally different machines, the 44 had a massive rotation issues which was good and bad (good in tight US style tracks with heaps of tight corners and hairpins) not as good on any loose surface or flowing latout.

what tweaks did you make to the diffs and shocks?
