Okay, my mistake. Since I bought my car used, I didn't even know that the "arches" on either side of the servo were separate pieces, or could be removed without compromising the structural integrity of the chassis.
Is it allowable to leave the arches off under TCS rules? (Not that I have any idea if those are the rules your club uses. But I'm curious now, since my car needs to be TCS legal.)
EDIT: Found the answer to my question: TCS Rules General "1. All chassis platforms must be built per the instruction manual. Altering their basic structure and design is prohibited."

They have been allowing you to leave the esc and receiver platforms off tho. A lot of the guys do that and just "sticky tape" them in place.

Jim I dont run them on mine, only because it looks cleaner. I found zero recognisable difference on the track, since i removed them.

They are not the same part, the is a difference in length, the M05GE being 1mm longer than the M06PRO, and they are easily identifiable as the M05GE has a groove cut into the cylinder portion of the pillow ball end.

I'm just building a m05, and am wondering on these parts. Do I need both or just one? I'm guessing 54121 is the better one?

There may be different part #s, but my M06 ball-end suspension shafts measure 36mm long, and fit M05 just fine. In fact, they are about 1mm too long on M05, and about 2mm too long on M06. Seem to work fine on either, whether shimmed or not...

Got bored this evening, so I built a set of Super Mini CVA dampers and every other damper in my hobby room began to leak sympathetically. Wow, those things are weepy!
Any thoughts on sealing them up?

Used the clear ones they came with. Those are actually okay - it was the tops that we're letting all the good stuff out. Problems seems to have resolved itself. They were dry this morning. (Must be empty!)

For TCS races, Old S grips all around with light CA on the first tread on the front tires. If car is still traction rolling CA the shoulder of the front tire.

I was wondering if an aftermarket M05 diff will fit a M03?
Are the only diff options for a M03 the 3racing ball diff and TA03 ball diff? Does anybody make a sealed gear diff?

Unless it is the longer, grooved version that comes only from the M05GE then Tamiya will rule it as ineligible for their race series.

The standard M03 setup is a planetary diff. I've built a few using the reinforced gear sets, and they're ranther strong for what's in them. The gearing is different on the M05 from the M03. Supposedly the gears for the M04 fit an M03, but as I only have the M03, I can't comment.
