Not yet, but probably expecting it to be better than when I was running a full sized lipo.

Is anyone running their 03 in any racing action anymore? Im setting up 3 cars...1 for 17.5, 1 for vta and 1 for tamiya gt3...pics to follow

How do you even get the proper gearing for VTA? I would run mines in VTA if only I can gear down to 3.7.

Im going to grind the motor mounting holes eventually but right now i think i have a 37mens tooth 64 pitch pinion in there. I still havent been able to test it to see how hot it gets yet

With this car, it will be hard to run it in VTA and compete with the internal ratios of the Xray cars. I checked into it already and the internal ratio is in the mid 2s whereas the Xray cars internal ratios are 1.7 to 1.9 (depending on which model Xray you have). Plus, you would be limited in gearing due to the makeup of the front diff/gear housing (if you wanted to do a bigger spur). I think with the would be great for running in VTA if it wasn't for these limitations.

Oh, mine is a TA03F (not like the TA03R pictured in post #1321).

Theyre 48 pitch but theyll get me lower my final drive ratio

I dug an old belt out of an unmarked bag the other day and I can't work out where its from. I've owned several different Tamiya cars and I am sure its from one of them but I am not sure which... the only one I've been able to rule out is the TA04.

Can anyone tell me how many teeth the TA03 belt has?

Sweet. TA03R TRF. But how is it on the straights? I'd love to use my TA03 as a VTA car but the gearing is too limited.
