Anybody find a better servo saver that will fit the ta-07? I am tired of the slop that develops after a few months in the stock kit one. Does the aluminum horn that Tamiya makes offer a permanent improvement in the slop?

Well, I had a good day with my TA07 saturday.

Though, I did start off the day with breaking a suspension arm. Which.. I've never done before. And bent a suspension pivot pin, which I HAVE done before. Otherwise the car went great. All of my replacement arms were carbon, versus the hard nylon, so that may have even helped things a bit. I also found the front lip of my PSM chassis had split between layers. I clamped that and glued it with thin CA.. that seemed to take care of that.

I should have sealed the edges of the PSM parts.

... Now I just need to find those two seconds a lap.

Servo adapters won't be an issue. The issue is that unless the servo saver has a lot of offset, it will hit the chassis. I'm not sure that the x-ray servo saver has that kind of offset.

hi all , im looking at picking up a new ta07 pro pretty cheap. how do these run in 21.5t ? any necessary uprgrades needed? not many if any that i have seen run locally so i cant check one out on the track

the only thing you would have to do is buy some spurs and pinions as the kit one is .6mod which are pretty hard to find in other sizes. I swapped to 48p, just about any standard ones fit. This makes it easier to get the right FDR for 21.5T

otherwise the TRF418 swaybar kit and a spring kit is useful for some tuning options.

once that was done I found I needed the carbon stiffeners as I had too much flex for the track. I would try it before buying these though

I also found that getting the alloy suspension blocks made a big difference and meant I didnt need to shim to remove play in the arms. I like them but they are probably a nice to have rather than essential

I have a new kit that i am thinking about building. The question i have is to be TCS legal you can only use Tamyia option parts only no exotex parts correct?

I feel your pain. I switched to a Tamiya fixed aluminum servo horn. I can confirm also that the Yeah Racing aluminum servo saver will fit. It has to be the compact one part #YA-0557BU or BK or RD depending on which color you prefer. It will also last much longer than Tamiya and doesn't develop slop. It is springs like an xray saver. Xray will not without chassis modification.

Thanks for the info. I purchased the Tamiya aluminum servo horn and that took out the slop for now, but it remains to be seen how long that will last.

I ran my TA07 in USGT this weekend. One comment another driver made.. made me question my setup a bit. He noted that the belt drive was a lot less free than he expected it to be. And comparing to my T4... he's dead right. Before I tear down my car and investigate every bearing, is there anything I should be looking for? Are your TA07's magically free like the double belt cars?
