Has Marks car got a different top deck with a smallpiece joining at the front and also there is not front belt guide/tensioner !!

Marc said that top deck is something they were testing before the LiPo chassis came out? I know we saw pictures of some cars from a race in Japan that had a deck with that brace on the front. I'm not sure why he decided to run it here, I don't think I've seen them run it before. He also said the first time he saw the 417 was the pics on RedRC.

The TRF cars look great, but there's a stacked field of drivers in modified. Watching these guys race in person is so incredible.

My car is working well. I'm driving just okay right now, too many little mistakes. It seems like lots of the faster guys are struggling with one thing or another. I'm top 10 in stock and super stock, but there's a LOT of fast guys behind me that are going to step it up tomorrow. I'll try to do the same.


How do you guys keep your LiPos from sliding around without the hooks? Does someone make some little locator weights or something you can put on the bottom of the packs? Flat bottom packs will fly right out.

I use the TOP tape and I've never had an issue with flat bottom packs. For big races I double tape, but that's it

PPD used to make those little weights that you can shoe goo onto your packs, but I haven't seen them in stock for a while

You can cut some lexan the shape of the battery slot and put the parma silcone servo tape on the lexan rectangle. Position your battery then from the bottom stick the lexan/ servo tape to the battery, you'll only need one at front and rear of the pack. It doesn't add much weight but if your having trouble at the IIC it will get you by. I always did it that way.

Hello TRF416 series freaks

I'm in the market for a new TC, and have been eyeing the 416X for over six months now.

I'm planning on selling one of my existing TCs because it's not laid out nearly as nice as a Tamiya car.

I can pick up an AE TC6FT next month at my favorite hobby shop but I'm afraid it's designed basically the same as its predesessor.

Would the 416X be worth it, or is a TRF417 or the next gen come out soon and should I wait?

I would also like to know about any lipo battery tips and how it affects this chassis

If you've waited 6 months already, you might want to wait another 3 and get the 417 which comes with a lipo chassis in the box (versus the 416X which the lipo chassis is a ~$130 upgrade).

Ok, I am building a 416X lipo chassis kit and am having a problem finding shock springs in stock. I am needing springs for carpet racing so I am in search for the white springs and blue. I believe they are rated at 15lb. and 17lb.
I hear the HB springs will work and they are easier to find hear but what size springs are the correct ones? They have a million different sizes and they do not tell the ratings in lb.

most of the setup i have seen uses silver/silver og silver/gold i have also tryed the blue and pink spring.

On carpet you'll want the tamiya springs rather than the HPI. They aren't that hard to find, look for part 53440 or 49382 (white)

Are the M-Chassis shocks the same as the 416 shocks? 416 shocks are hard to find. Looking at the black M-Chassis shocks, then putting the gold 416 shafts in them.

Thanks for the info. I was trying to buy the white/ blue springs separate vs. in the $15.00 pack where i will never use the other to springs. I may have to do that.
