FINALLY!!!

Got to run the car today.
Broke the left front arm on the third lap after wedging the car under a Road Rail.

Of course, i had the V2 arms ready to go. Swapped them in and no problems the rest of the day. I used some beat VTA tires for the maiden voyage. I wanted to see what type of grip i would get before ordering some proper F1 rubber.

Amazingly, I had excellent rear grip. I'm pushing like a dump truck and lifting the inside wheel in the sweeper. I need to get some springs to aid in tuning, but i'm very happy so far.

cars started really working well and stopped the snap traction roll we were getting with the cars when we had more front and rear camber. More testing today, should have 4 to 6 of them out at the track today
Thanks for the starting points will try and then fine tune to my own track once again thanks Nigel

Great update! I'm running the Shimizu grooved soft front and rears as recommended by Lightfoot and RacerRobert. The car still pushes a little, but not like it did out of the box. You pick up the optional camber plate yet? I got the 1* and it makes a huge difference.

Using the hpi bridgestones. Soft in the front medium in the rear with full traction compound. Also using the stiffest rear sway bar and tamiya f201 yellow springs. 2 hole piston with 80 weight shock oil. No extra added front end weight other than reinforcing the front arms. Saturday the car had great traction and as much steering as I wanted. Almost too much front grip causing the rear to get a little loose. May try traction compound on half of the front tire or a softer rear sway bar.

work well on ashfelt do you know?

can anyone help me find 4.8mm and 4mm ballnuts like these?
http://www.tqrcracing.com/shop/produ...yword=&pg_no=2
rabbit conversion needs them to mount the shocks and brace to the topdeck, cant use ballstud as it has countersink screw up underneath

thanks

tried a new set up at Camarillo ( outdoor asphalt ) this weekend... it rocked !
5mm ride height...
medium Tamiya springs up front...
lube front king pins
0 degree toe out front
soft F201 rear springs
no sway bar
Shimizu soft fronts
Shimizu soft rears... yada, yada...

But the most important thing... 3 degree rear toe and use the thin Tamiya F103 style dense foam insert so you can feel the air gap in the rear tire...

The car is planted... I'm using a 35 spur with a 36 pinion... top speed is good but could be a little better... I think if I dremel out the motor mount hole I could fit in a 38 pinion might be better...

A good test with a bunch of the cars here at the track this last weekend. We made some big progress with them working on:

Thinner diff fluid 1000 cst (may go lower)
softer front springs
More Castor 6d
80wt shock oil
Stiffer rear spring

we'll know more after this weekend
Our first winter series race this weekend

More parts and kit's coming in today
