If you shortened the wheelbase to 210mm many of the M chassis original style Coopers should fit. If you want a new gen Cooper then Colt has a 210mm one. The Tamiya new BMW Cooper body will not work (239mm wheelbase).

Per HPI many hardcase LiPo batteries will fit. Rectangular ones can be taped in place. Stick pack shaped ones can use the rounded holder, though I found Orion ones to be a really tight fit.

Yes I would. Battery and servo are mounted on the chassis for lower center of gravity. The upper deck is symmetrical so flex side to side is the same.

The Tamiya M chassis cars' wheelbases are:

M03/M05 - 210mm
M03M/M04M/M05M - 225mm
M03L/M04L/M05L - 239mm

The BMW Cooper bodies 2002 and 2006S fit the M03L. I have the 2002 version of the body and its 239mm wheelbase.

Even though Tamiya USA site doesn't say it's 239mm wheelbase for the 2006S body, it does say it's for an M03L.

See the link below from the English language Japanese Tamiya site. Yes the spec said 237mm. Its 239mm.
