Default Bullet connectors disconnected

Hi, great thread for support !! That's y we love Castle !!

So i did a no no...pulled the connectors to the my mamba monster ESC by the wire, and it disconnected from the bullet connectors.

What's the best way to remedy ? Solder ? Will it void the warranty ?

I also noticed a hole in the bullet connectors...is there a size of worm pin that is supposed to hold the wire in ?

I looked on the site to find a set of wires+connectors but none are for sale, only the connectors themselves.

I found on the CC website that the MMP should be able to run a 2650 motor on 2S or 3S. I'd like to know if it will run a 2650 on 4S as well. I'd like to run this with a Tekin 2650 sensored motor. The Mamba Monster does not do sensored motors so that's why I was thinking of the MMP. Will this cause heat problems with the ESC? I plan to gear it 19t/52T in my Slash 4x4. This works well with my Monster 2200 on 5S but the weight is a little too high with this setup.

It would be nice also if CC would announce a 550 size motor for SC racing or bashing. Novak and Tekin have one now.

Could someone suggest a CHEAT mode setting for the MMP in at 17.5 touring setup? I'm using a Ballistic 17.5 and I'm looking for the ideal RPM range. The track is medium-low traction so I have the car geared for high acceleration and I need the boost to come in only during the high speed straights.

It's a 2200kv motor so on 2s lipo that should peak around 18,000 rpms.. Am I thinking correctly that setting the CHEAT boost for a range from 12,000 rpm up is correct if I only pull above half throttle on the straights?

Thanks!

Well after returning the ESC for warranty replacement and recieving a brand new unit it appears that the problems were all in the ESC. I ran an entire race day without a hitch. Also the software responds as it should to settings such as power (torque limiter).
I am very satisfied with the new software but I have to find that new sweetspot with the settings. So far I am running the power setting in the 3 to 4 range with a 10.5 and running 35 degrees of cheat. That creates a smooth spool up, screaming top speed and a cool motor.

There are many setups posted in the thread in the electric onroad forum, but this is what has worked well for me w/ a ballistic 17.5:

45* timing
6000-20000 rpm range (approximate, I dont have my setup here in my college dorm)
1 slash advanced past "n" timing on motor

What FDR you want will depend on size of the track, my track is 120ft straight, I normally geared between 6.3 and 7.0 depending on the layout (thats a 4 tooth pinion spread).

As always, run for 2 mins at a time and check temps so you dont blow anything up, motor should run around 180*F or so (higher and you get problems)

What's a good combo motor with the Mamba Monster esc, for racing a 8ight-e? I had the Losi electronics in it, and they fried and the 1900 worked pretty well. Also, when mounting the MM, does anyone know if there are any problems with fit or if any new hardware is needed on the ESC or a CC motor?

quick question...

I am connecting a Tekin T8 1400kv to my MMM and the tekin has the A,B and C solder tabs. Does it matter which wire from the motor goes in the esc? I did have the A tab connected to the positive lead on my MMP and C tab connected to the negative.

Thanks!

Default just switch one wire around

it does and doesn't matter. Just solder them up randomly, install bullets into bullet receptacles in ESC, turn on all systems. try throttle if it's reversed, the just reverse to of the wires, doesn't matter which to. I know sounds weird but all you have to do is switch to of the bullets any two and the right forward/reverse should work fine. I like to turn system off while switching the two leads from motor to esc, states such in castle manual the switching of the wires that is.

Keep in mind that if you plan to run it sensored it absolutely DOES matter that the wiring is correct. A to A, B to B, C to C. The motor and the ESC should be marked with A, B, and C.

yes thank you, I had it matched up on my MMP. But since I was waiting on my replacement, I had a MMM as a backup. I just wanted to make sure it didn't matter on the MMM.

Quick question about the mamba micro. I searched this thread for 'micro' but didn't find anything. Can the micro run a 540 size 21.5 motor (novak ss specifically) on 2s lipo? I'm new to the sport so this may be a dumb question but I'm trying to find a physically small esc to put in a touring car.

Anyone actually know how the torque control works?

I dont think it measures the current in the motor to control the torque, perhaps it just ramps the duty cycle up over a period of time?

I want to try and understand it so I can use it properly as I don't get time at the track to practise

Default Lag Problem

I am new to the mamba monster world but not to electric vehicles. I am finding that I have a lag when I come off the throttle and then get back on it again. I race and find myself having to drive the vehicle like a nitro (blipping the throttle) so I do't have this lag. I don't think it is cogging (I am running the 14/45 on a Losi 8ightB) as sometimes when I spin out, I have to sometimes stab the throttle a couple of times to get it to go. I am hoping it is something simple and hope I don't have an ESC issue. Any help and/or ideas would be much appreciated.
Thanks
