Have you ever used a power driver while working on a car? I built my first kit four years ago without a power driver, I built the next 3 with one. Having a powerdriver cut my build time in half. I don't respect the last three kits any less for using a power driver.

When you have to screw in a 2 inch wood screw or drywall screw, do you use a screwdriver or a drill? Will you respect the project any less by using a drill? Tell a roofer to put every nail in the roof by hand with a hammer instead of using a nail gun and see what he says. It's time and efficiency, not being a real man or a woman by only using hand tools.

I've been at the track in the past, and had to change out a rear diff. It's a heck of a lot quicker taking those screws out with a power driver ,than by hand.

I'm sorry for the rant, and I mean no disrespect by it but please don't disrespect those of us that choose to use a power driver for the speed and efficiency of it and call us less of a man for using it.. I don't want this to turn into a pissing contest as arguing on the internet is dumb. These are the only comments that I will say on this subject.

From what I've seen so far looks like new chassis, new steering rack/bulkhead, new battery retention system, new shocks. A lot of small improvements that, together, will likely make a nice package.

I'm in no need of a new 2 wheel, I love my 4.0, but after seeing how much nicer things felt on my local track when removing the battery brace I'm excited to see how the engineered chassis flex benefits the 5.0.

it seems like a small detail refresh, just like they did on the nitro 8ight 3.0 to 4.0. However I believe the there are some new front knuckles. Since an official release has not been announced we can only speculate by the slow release of details. I think the shock changes are really minor. Some like the idea of a plastic shock cap some of use like aluminum. I think the only real advantage to anyone with plastic caps is TLR. The cost of manufacturing plastic caps is a lot less than aluminum.

the car is going to be good. I wish TLR handled releases like Xray. Xray announces a new model and 2 weeks later one can buy it. I need a new buggy and dont want to buy a 4.0 if the 5 car is being sold sooner than later

I've never owned a Xray, but as I hear more and more about a refresh every year, it sounds good. I'm thinking about picking up a Second, 2nd buggy, and not sure if this new 5.0 or trying xray. I love my B6.1d, but would like a different one to try. I have not raced Modified, just stock. So need to practice for a future Modified class.

it should be in the same price range of all other brands , 330-360. To be competitive it should be around there.

The 4.0 sr is not recommended for carper due to the lightweight driveline so I would have thought that it would only be a dirt sr.

I race the 4.0sr on carpet. Most carpet racers like to use the gear diff instead of the ball diff. So add the gear diff and 67mm bones and it's an awesome carpet muncher.
