The 3.5 are not the hot ticket for all cars. The way my chassis is set up and 95% of the guys i run with the 3.5 cause understeer. Our circuit is on the small side and a high grip circuit. Its nice to have a set of the 3.5s around to try but they are not a must have and can also hurt performance.

Dont fall into the trap of the option parts because they are more expensive. 3.5s,Link type supension, and pillow ball "T" bar mounts are all different items that really have to be tested where you race and are not for everybody. None of these items work on our circuit, but they might be good on yours.

The GT king pins are too long. I would have to measure the length of the F1 pins to see if Tamiya has another pin that is available. If anyone wants to know, just ask..... The GT front link suspension is still around and can be found easily.

Can anyone tell me what firmness/shore tires come in the 15th Anny kit? I can't seem to find that info anywhere.

This car is a blast to drive!!! I built it to kit specs and put a 17.5 BL, 2 cell Lipo and M body kit on it and gets around our carpet track really well. It had a little understeer, but that was easy enough to fix. Now several other drivers are dusting off their F103s and bringing them out. Should be a fun class.

Pretty cool... bought a new set of arms last night to try it. It definitely works... I just now have to give a little more grip back to the rear. We haven't started a class yet so I'm just playing around. Saved the other arm set in case our class rules won't allow it. I have a feeling once the class starts it will go by TCS rules.

I have 2 spares for the same reason. I can put my car back to TCS at any time.

The "shim idea" is a proven theory for the stock out of the box fixed A arms. If you remove the 3 mm of plastic on the underside of the A arm and put the screws back in and tighten them all the way down, you'll get negative camber. The top and bottom arms should be touching now as the underside of the top A arm would be flat with the 2 nubs cut flush. About -2 degrees I think. By adding shims back in 1 or .5 mm increments you add positive camber back to the car. I stop adding shims when I reach .5 Degree of negative camber. An untreated A arm setup from Tamiya already has positive camber, so no, I would not shim one as out of the box they already roll on the outside of the tires.
If you could post some pictures of the modified parts that would be sweet. Like to exactly what to "shave" down to actually get negative front camber before I go at it.
Question: If you "modify a Tamiya part" wouldn't that be illegal????(For TCS) or would that be a grey area?
I do have a complete link front suspension I'll try anyway...just exporing tuning options on a fun simple car.
I keep my F1 cars TCS legal first, handling options second.

Modifying parts is definitely not TCS legal, but after TCS is over they will still be considered spec here in Madison as the parts were intended for the F103 chassis. If you have only one set of A arms, let me know. There are still a couple at RCP from my last order. I'll take pics tonight and post them.

I couldn't tell with the pictures of the two carbon bodies. But if you look at the clear 91 and 94 it looks to me that the 94 has a wider nose section ? I'm guessing either is going to look great ! This will be my first TRG body so I don't have any reference point yet ....
