If you do this, pick up a set of front Losi body posts as well, that's what I used for the stand offs, they're flexible (again adding to not putting stress on the chassis), I tried with Losi battery posts and they were to rigid ....the xray body posts are to "valuable" to use in the "ghetto strap 2.0"

I entirely second this... people who tweak their chassis with battery straps don't do it properly. It will not tweak if there's no pressure from the strap. Let me go pick up an AE one

well raced my new 05 for the first time yesterday and what can I say. This car is just AWSOME. I like it! more then my T1fk and I didnt think there would ever be a car that would replace it for me. The car is so nimble and predictable and easy to drive and it has a lot more rip! We had three full heats of 19t at my local track yesterday and I ended up 4th in the Amain.( if I would have changed tires I would have Higher)

after the day was done some dude came up to me and was asking me all sorts of questions about the car. So I told him what I thought and he went into the shop and bought thier last kit. Afterwards he tokd me he was going to buy a pro4 but I changed his mind Hey Mr Hudy have a job as a PR person out there for me !!!!!!!

I use a PRS 112 tooth spur and my friend put in a 116. I run stock and he runs mod. I usually slap in a 29-32 tooth pinion depending on the motor.

Also, I use the old x-ray 6 cell strap without any problems. I just mount one end to the hole right next to the front tape slot and for the other hole I countersunk a spot right in the middle of the rear tape slot. It doesn't tweak the chassis and it is still an x-ray part and it sure doesn't look ghetto.

Should I post a picture?

I would suggest:

1.5mm, 2 , 2.5, and 3mm to get you started. That should cover you for the build.

Cheers

Someone told me that wouldn't work ...yea post a pic ...although I plan on getting the "real one" as soon as it's out, the "ghetto bar 2.0" is just an interim solution.

I do not see why a Corally RDX battery hold down wouldn't work either....you might have to drill/countersink new holes though. The Xray battery hold down should be done soon...downside to it is it's expensive...

As Tim said. The old 6-cell works you just need to use the tape slot for one of the screws. Works 100% better than tape. When the new strap comes out I'll have one.

I am seeing a lot of people posting about the battery bar... Is there anything wrong with tape or is it just to make things easier?

Cheers
