Very Cool. Tamiya should release one of those body sets!
They should also mold them with the pontoons and splitter all ready to go. I am not a fan of assembling all the pieces. I gave up a long time ago.

Why do body have to be so complicated to build and $$$.

Hours of work gone after one or two 5 minute races

Cheers!

any help will be appreciated!!!

the battery:

With an exacto knife cut off a layer of the battery holder legs, do it very carefully just a small layer each time and fit it till you can secure the battery.
I trimmed with a dremel the outside of the upper deck so to make space for the banana plugs.

See if this works for you.

Default F104 for sale

The F104 includes car, silver can motor, new set of rims(still in bag), one set of front tires hard (new in bag), one set of tires and wheels (glued) that have been run a couple of times on carpet and still have lines, set of tires on car that have been run outside, painted body. The bottom of the car has no cracks and very few scratches. I would like to get $150 for it, so make an offer.

I would love to see someone create the decals to duplicate either of these. Personally, I think they are gorgeous liveries!!! Much nicer than the Proton Lotus Renault version!

that looks good, however sometimes a black car is hard to see when racing. i had a black car and we did a night race under the lights, rough night.

When gluing Tamiya rubber tiers, do you need to glue the side walls as well?

No you do not glue the sidewalls on rubber tires. Inserts are your tuning aid.

the tamiya bodies are pretty reasonable compared to the cost of other f1 bodies. they come with decals, front and rear wing and sometimes wheel spats. if you compare it to a touring car body that comes with no decals is a decent deal. also the f1 bodies last way longer than touring car bodies, especially a nitro touring car body.

i agree that they can be a bit difficult at times, but when its done it looks good (tamiya f104 bodies)
