Default Anyone have pics of the cf prototype...

XXX-S? I sure would like to get my hands on one if it was possible. With this design you could move the cells towards to center of the chassis and the electronics. Along with a short arm design. Man that would be cool! Easier to work on. and no battery issues. 3mm cf carpet spec.

Anyone run 26mm foam tires on asphalt with their xxx-s? I see a lot of nitro guys run foam at the track but no ep guys using them. but the nitro guys have better grip so i'd like to try it. cheaper too i think.

The 26mm seem to do OK. I have tried 45 shore front and 35 rear on my XXX-S.

I run Ellergi 37 shore all round with 26mm on front and 30mm on rear and have great success. It all depend on the temperture if it is hotter I run a higher shore.

This past summer we ran MOD Foam EP on Asphalt. I ran my xxx-s and did pretty well. The tire combo of choice was actually Purple (rear) / Plaids (front), not Nitro Foam's. Great thing was, that in a 5-minute race, the EP times were faster than the Nitro guys .

If someone has this, that would be great.

I ran my XXXS this past weekend and though I would try the IB3800's.
No fit. I tried to flip the battery strap but they still flopped around.
Has anyone tried the GP3700 in there XXXS? They are not as fat as the IB3800 I think?

I have run the GP3700's in my xxx-s. I took the dremel to the stock battery strap to open up the diameter that fits around each battery. I also slightly dremeled the chassis where the cell rests. I didnt take much off here. The batteries fit, but are slightly raised still at one end due to them being a bit longer. I didnt have any problems with them coming out during racing (Mod asphlat).

Did you have the cells shrink wrapped?

I can not get the 3700 or 3800 to fit. Even without shrink wrap they do not fit very well. To bad about the battery fit. Losi probly wont retool for this. Great car still.

So I guess were stuck with the GP3300?
That's not to bad as long as we can get them.
If anyone knows of other cell's that fit/do not fit please post them.
I would like to see the XXX-S on tracks for at least a few more seasons!!

A little grinding on the slots and the brace, the 3700 and 3800 should fit fine...

Buck Nasty: No need to worry about the XXX-S going out of commision down here in Florida. I've been racing the XXX-S for about 4 years now. I believe im the only driver in my club with a XXX-S and im also running Expert stock. I just moved to expert stock and i finished 4th out of about 17. So im still gonna use this car until i really start getting beat. I have my XXX-S hooked up. I love the car still.
Ya im sure you can just dremel out the battery slots a little and dremel out the batter strap. You could probably try rounding or making the actuall battery slots in the chassis bigger.
