I said the same thing to someone! I broke a couple of spool plastic outdrives on a 417, last year and it didn't really bother me because I knew they were cheap to replace and it absorbed a lot of the impact that would have probably broken more parts if the outdrives were metal, like the c-hub and steering knuckle). The TC6's plastic spool outdrives and CVD blades were a selling point for me. I knew I wouldn't spend a lot of money replacing front drivetrain parts - and I haven't.

you need to pick up a set of reflex alloy outdrives, they stop the blade from wearing as much and breaking in an accident, since putting these in i have only ever lost 1 blade (but it was a big hit and broke some ballcups as well)
For a fast flowing track i can only suggest something like ear putty in a front gear diff to take some give while still being very locked.

I have done various google searches but nothing shown up.
Where did you buy the alloy spool outdrives.

Whats the difference between a slipper spool and a ball diff.
It appears the only difference in the parts photos is no ball bearings in the slipper spool.

I have the TC6 Slipper Spool. Just have to make sure you build them with the thrust washer and bearings in them or they will unwind themselves, as I found out through experience.
500k or 1mil would suit EPR better than 300k. I feel like my car lacks a bit of drive out of some corners and definitely has way to much steering.

Anyone know the difference between the TC6 Diff (ball) and the TC6 Slipper Spool.
Theres a photo of each on Towers website, but they've used the same parts photos.
The Spool say it comes with balls.
The diff doesn't say exactly what parts are included.
The Diff is $54 and the spool is $35. So what parts are different.

bigtez The balls and metal rings are replaced with soft 'pads' (part no. 31173). Everything else is the same.
Surprised there is a $20 price difference for what is basically the same parts.
The slipper says it comes with bearings and balls, perhaps that's incorrect.
Anyway, that gives me four options to try.
Thanks all.
Cheers
