Thanks
Just wanted to give mad props to Favian AKA Sigearhead. He was very helpful with setups and probably one of the nicest people I've met on the boards. Thanks again!

Schumacher team drivers- of late, some of you have gone to the short/med rod, versus the stock long/med or med/med rods...why and what changes have the cars produced using the short/med rod?
Also, check out this video of an Mi2 w/ 3S Lipo and mod motor being speed tested and trying to pass real cars in Europe...

Is that you, Ashton?

Running the short steering link and moving it forward 2 holes to even out the tie-rods makes the steering more linear and smooths the car out.

I haven't reported in for a while, well because I've mainly been running Mini and nitro. But I got the Mi3 back out for the first time in a while. It was still running good, didn't have any lack of steering, and the car generally felt very good.
Only thing I'm looking for at this point is to minimize the body roll I seem to be getting. I've got thicker sway bars, but I'm worried that running those or trying stiffer springs will cost me traction on asphalt.

quick question - Seaball's foam setup in the manual calls for 3mm shims on the rear hub - has anyone else tried this and made it under the wheel - a fellow Mi3 made it to the track today and was only able to get 1.5mm of shims in there....
Sigearhead would know. You out there Fave?

I'll fess up . . .Im the fellow Mi3. I had RPM ball cups on at the track today and was only able to clear 1 mm of shims without any rubbing (1.5 mm rubbed just a tick as evidenced by the tiny shaved section on top of the cup.) I got home tonight and threw on the ball grippas on the outside of the turn buckles and while they are thinner I am still left wondering how 3 mm of shims made it under the wheel. I am runnig the stock rear hubs, parma magentas, stock turnbuckles and had seaballs foam setup on the car. The only thing I can imagine is if there are different height ball studs included in the kit and I happen to have the tall ball studs in the rear hub. (I do realize there are 2 different lengths to the threaded sections, but I didn't notice any short or long "necks" on any of the ball studs.)

I use the Xray style in the back and was able to clear 3mm no problem, any more and it WILL rub.
As you can see in the pic (sorry it's not that clear) I have 3mm with the Xray style cups. I run foam tires and no rubbing.

As you can see with the tires on it's pretty darn close but it doesn't rub. That's about all you can run without it rubbing though...
