I was scared ...it didn't look like it had enough "meat" on it to try and do it, and I didn't want to roast a part and then have to steel it from Dal ...although he won't be ready to race on the 28th anyways ...that only gives him 2 weeks to get the car ready!

I was wondering with those 6mm Tamiya Hexes how much more clearence did they give you as far as rubbing the steering knuckle than the stock ones. I really cant tell on that one pic? How much more does it bring it out?

Thats weird in your post #1952 you said that the Tamiya 6mm hexes fit perfectly. Whats the deal.. I was going to purchase them..

If your looking to space out the width to keep the tires from rubbing you can use the following:

IRS4016 Front Suspension Spacers - (0.030" thick) 8 per package

Junior- This is from the Xray Forum.
"The gold springs included in the T2 kits are similar to the #308384 - Spring-Set D=1.5 (15 LB) Blue-Green (4) and the silver ones are similar to the #308385 Spring-Set D=1.6 (20 LB) Light-Blue (4) but they have different, more progressive, dampening characteristics."

Yea that pic is with the 6 mm hexes ...I never tried the stock ones i.e. to tell you how much more clearance, all I can say is with the 6 mm it's clooosssseee, so I can only assume the stock ones would way rub on the knuckle.

First time with an Xray car...a few questions

On the T2 foam set-up sheet included in the Kit. it states for the rear toe-in overall at 2 degrees and mentions to use a a .75 spacer in the in the rear wheel base spacer....

now the manual mentions to use for the rear wheel base spacers 1.5mm towards front and 2x 1.5mm spacers in the rear.

Question:

How does the .75 spacers per the optional set-up sheet work. do you remove one of the 1.5mm spacers and replace it with the .75?

Hrcracer, Harsh was talking to me about counter sinking the top bulk heads. XRAY hexes are 5mm. You have to add 1mm to clear the steering knuckles. So, the tamiya 6mm are perfect. I believe 3racing also makes 6mm hexes for tamiya cars.

Hi Carl,

The 1.5mm spacers are considered "track width" spacers and used on the front and rear of every suspension holder. The extra 1.5mm spacer in the rear holder of the rear arm hinge pin provides too much toe (for carpet) and it's replaced with the .75 mm spacer. If you left that .75 mm spacer out, you would have only the 1 degree of toe provided by the hub.
