How about the MMP with the 4 pole 4600kv motor? Would that be better? Reason I am sticking with the CC motors and esc is because I have access to these.

Thanks again and thanks to everyone else who has/ will reply to me.
No some people have had promblems with the 4600 kv motor. If you are just going to be playing around and bashing then the 2400kv motor is a perfect choice. You could run a hole pack through the motor and it will not even be warm. So you will never have to worry about overheating.

All things considered, I'd do the 3800kv w/ whatever esc you can afford. The sidewinder esc actually doesn't work to bad. The 3800 can be ran on 3cells, plus it will fit better than the huge 2400kv motor.

Ditto.

Preferably, a MMP. For the price, it can't be beaten performance/reliability wise.

Thanks guys, ok I do have another question. I see some shafts are 5mm and some are 3.2mm which one should I get?

Also will this exact system do the trick since you guys are saying the mmp with 3800kv... "Castle Creations Max Race Pro SCT 25.2V 3800kV System" Whats throwing me for a loop is the 25.2v part in the title!

Heres a quick link I dug up..... http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXBLCE&P=7

Thanks for putting up with the questions

Stick with the one you have more pinions for.

I run 48p (ergo 3.17mm shaft), super smooth, super adjustable, and super silent.

32p is too noisy and sloppy for me.

Edit: Yep, that's the system. 25.2V is the max supported voltages, you'll run 2S most of the time though. It's still plenty fast. Comes with 5mm shaft, use 32p then. Not a big deal, some people prefer it.

Edit2:

Muuuuuch cheaper than Tower. Free shipping aswell.

I run that exact motor on Havoc Pro SC esc and have no braking issues barring the tractiong on the track. On test runs in the street it stops almost on a dime. Hmm? Go figure?

That's the right combo. Plenty fast to get your truck scooting. 5mm shaft is beefier. I run the 32 pitch pinion and spur. You're set to go.

Just a quick tip. I see that a lot of guys are CA gluing the clicker down for full 4x4 so it won't loosen up. I think that's too permanent. I tightened down my clicker and there is plenty of thread there so I put another lock nut to prevent backing out. Now I can go back to running the clicker if I ever decide.

Oh well, 1 thing at a time.............
Maybe I wasn't excpecting as much as you are, but it seemed to break fine for me running on 13/62. I also had the drag and minium break set to zero as I like the wheels to be as free as possible while in the air.

does anyone know what diameter the axles are where the wheel hex's slide on? also what thread is the wheel nuts?
I'm attempting to put wider hex adapters on , I have a set for the losi but they have a little smaller hole in them.

I'm running the rx8, I haven't had a chance to get it on the hotwire. All the tuning I've done was in pit tune mode, using the buttons on the esc. I'll probably be able to get some more brakes out of it.

I've made esc and motor changes lately, It's gonna take some time to get it set-up, I guess.

So you didn't actually disassemble the truck? You just "photoshopped" it apart... LOL. JK, nice write up, I do mine the same way.

Obviously you've not seen the carnage when it backs off.

look what i got in the mail today!!

i has some holes in it for what looks like a saddle mount kit, i dont want to drill extra holes in it so before i install it i have to come up with some sort of different hold down. where the holes are though the batts will have to go longitudinally. its is gorgeous, workmanship is A1! worth 100 bux. i will do some thorough testing with it next week.
