lol...I guess I have different idea of traction

When I was dialed at your track it was pink rear and magenta ft until the guy that loaned me the magenta ft took them back and I had to use dbl pink ft then I was just semi-dialed with .018 fts of course

Can't wait to try the Yellows and Gray-lows or Jaco orange tires

We used to have a great groove, but it's kind of faint now. I ran Pinks and Purples back then, but now use Yellow or Orange with Lilac fronts and .020 springs.

Thanks Lonny, Do you know where White would fall in at. At the moment my track has very little selection of tires for 12th scale. Nobody runs it! Magentas worked well outside and thats pretty much what they kept in stock. I havent been able to order anything else so thats why all the dumb questions. Yep cant wait for the groove to get there.

And I probably used the car that was thought to be the least dialed the Yokomo at the time with wide battery slots yet I did well with it

Is it still bumpy there?

white is the gripiest of all but usually makes the car understeer badly even in low grip. Might be worth a try but yellow, pinks or magentas will probably be the ticket once you get a groove going.

In fact, white is so soft if the groove comes up at all, the sidewalls will flex and you will lose side bite, though you still get good forward bite. Yellow can have this problem as well, which is why the strip of gray is added to the outside of an Orange. You can also glue the edges with CA along the edge of the rim to prevent this.

Thanks guys, Yah I think I'm going to use Purple fronts and White rears to start with tomorrow since like I said there is no traction whatsoever. Besides thats all I have for low grip tires. Then maybe switch up to magenta rears until I get my hands on some real tire combos. We havent raced carpet for six months and in Jan or Feb they might do the unthinkable and replace it with dirt! 12th scale dies when we go to asphalt for some strange reason here. Anyways keep the great tips coming and thanks again.

If I remember correctly, somewhere between 80-85mm was about right.

Default Rollout?

Just got back from Nor-cal

Thank you all for lending me your tools and for helping me to get started

Thanks Steve Ashby for a great 4.5 turn motor. Motor will never be a problem with Team powers

If car was dialed in this motor would rip totally and speedo and motor wern't even hot a little

LRP SXXSS 0-1-1-0

Had a couple questions about rollout even though my mind is on setups for my Rebel12

So there is a rollout for each class blinky or ramped?

I ran a 4.5T with 44mm X Pi X 31 pinion / 92 spur = 46.5776347826087 rampo

Is there a rollout chart for separate classes? How does it work please comrehensively?

Thank you very much

So after all my worry on the tire situation of what to run on the recently uncovered track. It worked out well. Started off with Lilac fronts and White rears and after compound wore off it started pushing. Second heat kept the White rear and changed to Magenta fronts and it worked out fine. Third heat changed to Magenta - Magenta and ran that the rest of the day. WGT was spec tires and ran fine all day. The groove is already there and its a blast. We had six guys run 17.5 non ramped 12th scale and it was actually fun and challenging. Cant wait for next week!

So the magenta I suggested did work hmm ...lol

Your car looked very good and close to a great setup for you

Eric's car also looked rad with magenta x4 although I caught his left dampner was on backward didn't matter

Now if I can find the set up for me

Short explanation of roll out and a couple of roll out charts:

http://www.carsrcracing.co.uk/?page_id=33

Every motor has an ideal roll out for a speed control setting and track. Other racers can give you a starting point for your combination, but you have to experiment a little to find the sweet spot for your particular combination. Watch the temps and compare lap times for different adjustments.

Thanks Lonny it's ballistic with no heat right now and I'm thinking with decent setup would even run cooler cause of less motor needed with better rolling car or maybe be slightly hotter cause I can put more down

I'm sure things change with stock motors 17.5/13.5 so I will start with your chart

Laters
