Tamiya TRF415
Still using mine, the only things i've changed are to titanium steering rods, alu front uprights, serpent springs, I took out the centre one way and a diff up front as I run foams.
Still capable of making the A at club level...

Shocks could do with a rebuild, but maybe i'll change cars in the future.

Hy!
I read your question and tried it out.
Look at the picture. I am using short arms with the 416 uprights.
You have to use antoher damper position hole, and have to sand a little edge into the arms where the rims touches when the supension gets compressed.
But i think it is possible!

I am still using the kit 415 suspension/hubs etc which will probably differ a little from your setup. Ideally I would just like to bolt them on, and use a 2mm spacer between the hex and the wheel, but I suspect its not possible.
It seems that the 415 is not too kind when it comes to fitting foam tyres.
I suspect I may need to continue using 26mm all round.
It's no big deal, just thought I would ask someone first.

I need some help fellas. I'm looking into trying the gear diffs. I went onto the Spec R website to see if there's one available for the 415 MSX but none was listed. I think maybe the 416/417 set may work and buy the 36t gear housing separate, but I'm not sure. I sent the Spec R guys an email but also wanted to ask some of you who still run these cars with the gear diff in it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
I run the 416/417 Spec-R Gear Diff in my 415.
This has 37T so i also installed a 37T oneway pulley in front.
If you run the original 16T center pulley i think it will fit also with the original belts.
I run the 18T center pulleys from the 416 as well, so i have to change the front belt to the 169T HB cyclone front belt, wich have 1T more, and the xray 183mm/61T belt in the rear wich is 2T longer as the kit belt.
For the gear diff you will also need 10x 0,3mm shims. I use 5 pics on each side, because the 415 rear bulkheads are wider than the 416/417.
I will post pics later.

That's a nice looking piece you got there. I don't think I'll be able to take the same route you did because honestly...my budget will not allow me to. Couldn't I just get the 416/417 Spec R gear diff set, replace the 37t housing with a 36t housing, drop it in, shim it accordingly and hope a 46mm or a42mm swing shaft will work? Btw, I love the lipo converted rear bulk head you go there. That's
. Let me know what ya think.

Oh i dont mind that there is a gear diff for the MI4 also available from specR.
Maybe you can use the hole Gear diff from the MI4. If it has the same width and you can install the Tamiya outdrives....
Mix up with the Tamiya version is not possible because the newer versions like MI4, TCX have a extra grove i think because for a better sealing of the diff.
But the costs of the 37T oneway pulley are about 5$, so it should be no big money issue.
No that is an original Tamiya MSXX MRE 07 lower deck. I only cutted it out like the new upcoming 417x is styled. Should generate more flex. But 1st of all it looks good.
The holes for the split blocks are already drilled in the rear, and in the front i made it on my own to.
The part number for the belts are:
Rear: Xray 3mm x 183mm belt 3054444
Front: HB Cyclone 169T Belt HB70738
This belts are only required if you use the Tamiya 416 18T Center Pulleys.
Of course the newer Tamiya 417 Gear Diff Unit Ver.2 should alsi fit the car.
