Read this PDF.It's true...
I use only 5.5mm bullet connectors and hardwired motor/esc.
You don't have to buy original EC5(they are expensive and hard to plug/unplug).Just get some high quality 5.5mm bullet connectors.
@RacerX20 Nice truck! I have the same battery.
You are right about the batteries.Turnigy has the best lipos.

I run a Caste Creations Short Course brushless setup in my TT. I use a Venom 7.4v 20C (2S) 4000mah battery pack. I have noticed that the speed control overheats and will occasionally shut itself down momentarily. However the battery is not hot at all. Motor temps are fine.
Does this mean that I'm not running a powerful enough battery? I liken what's happening to an analogy. Suppose you are drinking a soda with a straw, but the straw is a coffee stirrer. Of course you will strain to suck up the soda with such a tiny straw. However if you have a bigger straw then the job is much easier. I compare the person drinking the soda to the ESC and the soda in the cup as the battery.
I think I need to run a higher C-rated battery, could this be the case? If so, what do you all suggest I run? I'd like to up my voltage if I can. I believe the CC brushless setup will accept up to 11.1v if I am not mistaken.
Help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

^Nice! Where did you get those aluminum front knuckles???
Oh and does anyone know where to get that Losi style motor mount?? There was a few pictures back a dozen pages or so.

Hey guys, im looking into buying one of these trucks. However, my question is, what are the differences in this and the hyper mini st-e?
Also, about what kind of speed are you looking at with a 4000kv motor on 2s with stock gearing?
Thanks for any help!

Put this in your calculator:
(Battery Voltage) x (motor kv) x (pinion) x (.0029) / (spur)
-stock gearing is 14/42-
This is approximate. It doesn't take into account wind resistance, loaded kv, voltage drop, traction, tire ballooning... ect.
So on a fully charged lipo you're looking at around 32 mph. I've got a 4800kv on 2s with 15/42 gearing and I'm pushing 40mph.

I really like the looks of this truck and am thinking about buying one. Hard to beat the features it has for the price. It would mainly be a parking lot basher, and something of a smaller scale that i could take with me when the family goes on trips so that it doesent take up so much room, plus it only uses 1 battery at a time. My father in law has a Losi Speed-T he takes. I had a brushless stampede, but sold it and am looking for something different. Im either going to go with a new Duratrax Evader EXT2, or one of these i believe. The brushless system will be an EZrun ESC and Tacon 3930kv motor. Id be pretty happy if i could get a reliable 35mph out of it.
Is the motor mount adjustable enough that i could run say a 17t pinion if i wanted to? Also, what pitch are the gears? Im guessing 32 pitch? Thanks again for the help.

I have no doubt it is better than the duratrax. I probably wont beat it real hard. Its not going to be my main beater or anything, and im not looking to put a high dollar brushless in it, so the main advantage the evader will have is that its lighter and probably cheaper to maintain since its less complex.

My friends who sold me the truck got the knuckles off a guy who got them CNCed and sold them here on RCtech for $45 I think. Not sure if he still makes him but he sold them on the forum.
