They should be snug going on. if you look at the bottom piece of the piston, you should see that they are machined with an oval hole which match up perfectly with the end of the shock shaft. just make sure you use the larger larger washer supplied on the top side of the piston, and use good thread lock

Tekin Pro4 4600kv -sniped it on ebay

i ran the 4000 in my SC10 4X4 today and had to turn the cl down to 75-70%, i bet with the 4600 you will ned to turn it down alot.but on the good side the truck is incredibly fast with the rx8- pro4.

I think i got it, so the 1 washer goes on the top, sitting in the oval?

We only use 1 washer with these, unlike the stock pistons come
with a washer on top and on bottom.?
Only washer on the top because the bottom piece is machined
to sit on the shaft perfectly!!!

NICE JOB MARCUS!!!, so we can use the DRILL set to make holes bigger if we want to....
I was going to use the drill set on the STOCK blank AE pistons...

Do not try and only run a set of pistons on the front and stock on the back the truck is just going to do circles, they are pretty dramatic.

im at an indoor national right now fighting these DAMN Losi's (they are freakin fast!) I qualified 8th in the A with nothing but electrical troubles and 3 qualifiers and only got a chance to run the fourth qualifier. im about to pass out due to being tired but in a nutshell here is where i am at with setup. this track is indoor but not clay, med grip but the jumps are pretty much all slappers! all you hear all day long is "bang, smack, crack and SLAP"
50wt front with 1.2/1.3
35r 1.1/1.3
blue springs f/r
front overdrive
30k front fluid
5k rear
2mm RC shims up front
med sway bars

i didnt get this setup until after qualifying and it feels good. i have the quickest SC10 here(i think, there is another quick one but i dont know how he qualified) but there are 6 Losis and a Rango in front of me.

will chime in with more info later, i am tired

Questions?? RCSHOX pistons

MANTIS,
if i wanted to do that setup, I would have to drill the 1.1 holes to
1.2 holes for the front shocks????

the pack that i bought is all 4 = 1.1comp/1.3rebound, correct?

thx

yes but remember that once you drill, you cant go back. i suggest playing with oils first. the Jumps at this track are high with hard landings, i had too much rebound and it was making the front jump up after landings. i tried this setup locally on my home tracks and did not like it.

Yes i realize that I can't go back, that is why I plan to order a few more packs, after trying these out this week.....I am going to put the 2stage in all 4 shocks tonight, with 35WT/F 32.5/R..............

I originally bought the drills hoping i can drill the AE blank pistons, but if i like these 2stage, i won't be running the AE pistons again.

thx

i think he is Q5, we talked for a while today about the Losi. watching them and racing with them it is apparent that because of the weight and the new breed of high torque motors they are simply able to put the power down better. my corner speed and agility is there but on turn exit they "jump" out and negate the corner advantage. another thing that is VERY noticeable is that you can manipulate them in the air much better. we have to be more carefull with lining the trucks up for the jumps. We are all basically running the same tire and i am finding that i have to lock the slipper out, gear up and add timing to match. both the Rango and AE are light and you can tell, its not a bad thing but WE have to drive much harder. the track in Dallas was very simple compared to this track.it is VERY busy, two crossovers, Big double doubles lots of high speed jumps that require some mid air twist to get around fast. Watching Matt battle with the Tq guy (cant remember his name) was interesting. Matt didnt seem to use much brake where the Losi was "point and shoot" driving and was on the brakes through basically every turn. this went on for about three laps before Matt stumbled slightly and he got around him. my truck seems to be in between both of them.
I think finding the right motor combo and getting some weight on this rig will get the job done. we dont need "mega torque" motors because we are light, that just leads to excess wheel spin. At any rate these are just my observations over the last two days! i am going to try my damnest to get on the podium tomorrow, its going to be a war!

thats way too thick on the oils unless your track has huge flat bottom jumps. if it does not, start with 25/25, with these you always want to start light and go heavier. if you start heavy you will feel comfy with it and not bother changing.

The track i go to, recently changed formats, so yes there are a few chassis slamming, flat landing jumps, that i want to be more prepared for this time.....

I already have the 2stage in the front/35wt.....
So i'l go 30wt in the rear with the 2stage

thx for the tips

how are your temps with that setup? mine is 14 62 with 30* and after a full pack of pinning it around the neighborhood its around 155-165, was thinking up going up to 15 and pulling timing out of it

ballistic 4.5 with a havoc pro sc
