Curious, has anyone tried using the Castle 540 size 3800kv 4 pole motor in an e-maxx? Or does it really require a 1/8 brushless setup?

I havn't used that motor but I used the other 4 pole, the 1415 it has done really well on three cell.

Tried searching this thread but came up with nothing.

I'm converting my 2.5 chassis (that's cracked) over to the extended 4mm 3.3 chassis. Am I going to need new extended driveshafts? Thanks in advance.

Well I'm fixing to throw a MMM/2200KV combo in a 3905 Emaxx I just bought..... :-)

Will be my first Emaxx. Should be fun!

Yes, you'll need extended driveshafts. Problem is, unless you already have the gray tranny, I believe the output shaft will be too small.

Best bet is to get the whole thing on ebay (chassis, gray trans, longer chassis braces, and driveshafts). I found a guy selling a complete package for $60. That's how I converted mine to the longer chassis.

Now, with that being said, I've got a spare short chassis (never been used) that I no longer need. Let me know if you're interested in it. I'm sure we can work out something.

Anything I need to do before bolting in this mmm combo? The truck is supposed to be brushless ready.

What size pinion do I use?

***Edit:I ended up buying a pinion set off ebay from a brushless edition emaxx. 17t and 20t pinions. Guess I'll start with the 17t on 4s.***

ok, so here i am 6 months after buying my first emaxx, and ive upgrade damn-near everything. currently im planning a winter tear-down/re-build, but im at that cross roads where my knowledge ends, and the questions begin. currently, what i plan on upgrading is suspension, control arms, servo(s), gears. so here is my list of questions:

1)i'm thinking i may do the lst2 shock upgrade, what are the recommended arms requiring the least amount of mods to fit them? i havent upgraded steering blocks yet, so including those is acceptable(ue?)

2)i'm going to a single servo set-up, does anyone have pics of how the linkage is laid out?

3)i want to upgrade the the gears in both difs and the tranny before i blow anything out. ive already put standard flm bulks in, so doing the hybrids during this winter is out. what are my other options, if any?

my current set up is:
tekin rx8/t8 2250 bl
flm chassis
flm skids
flm bulks
flm towers
steel shafts
rpm bumpers
rpm arms
titanium hingepins
alum turnbuckles

Sorry, but it's a little late now. Just got done installing longer driveshafts (with a little customizing ) and just placed an order for longer braces and guards. Thanks for the offer though.

I'm having issues finding upgrades for my e-maxx, got it used with no manual, it has the extended chassis, and used to have the dual motor set-up, anyone know what model number it is, want to beef up the chassis but not sure which parts are the ones that I need

3908 is the brushless version but all those parts work on yours by it being extended chassis. Also a lot of the parts are compatible between revo, tmaxx etc
