I picked up a 4909 in trade for my stampede 4x4. I had a Savage 25 already so I decided to make the Maxx into a "race truck". I got it with aluminum bulkheads, rpm arms, rpm skid plate, and metal spur gear. I've taken out the reverse servo and linkage and soon to remove the EZ start to lighten it up even more. I don't mind pull starts and rather prefer them so I don't need another battery to charge/keep charged. My right arm won't die on me LOL. I hate the roto start even more. The traxxas ez start is nice and has never failed me.

Between the Savage and Maxx, the Maxx stops better and has more low end but the savage is on the heaver side so that's ok.

I was impressed on how much better handling you can get with just lowering it and playing with toe/caster adjustments. still running stock 8 shocks with wheels with a lower offset to kick the wheels out (unsure of brand and model wheel.

Savage is the basher for me which I just landed my first front flip last night LOL.

Is there an advantage to having only 4 shocks compared to the 8?

I think 8 gives it more stability and strength, Depend if your running Stock shocks or aftermarket shocks. Only advantage would be it would get rid of weight.

I got an e-maxx, I am running three cell lipo with the new castle/neu 1415, wondering if anyone else is running something similar, I think I need a differnt esc right now I'm using a roadster quark 65 amp esc. it gets way hot, is there a good 1/10 scale speedo that will take the abuse or will I have to go with an 8 scale esc. also if anyone is doing this what kind of gearing are you running? my speedo gets really hot and hopin not to spent alot to get this thing running top notch, this truck does rip tho with this combo so far.

Just wondering if anyone might be able to help out?

I recently bought FLM diff cups, hybrid bulkheads and the 3906 Extended Chassis to help a good mate rebuild his old Emaxx with a Monster mamba max setup.

The diff cups were already fitted when the stock chassis snapped in two.

My issue is the FLM chassis didn't come with any instructions. But a few screws. I am just wondering what the correct locations are for the button headed bolts and the taper screws?

All ready to built - but I am firm believer there is a correct place for everything?

Thanks in advance!

Have you tried returning the settings to "stock"? Sometimes they can be so out of tune that they won't run and returning to manufactures' settings will get you back up and running and tune from there. Just a thought before you drop some $$ on a new engine.
