AE sends me stuff all the time.

But for some reason they always send it to a hobby shop first and then I get it.

I know Ae could send memo's and share this information , I just wonder why Ae is not sharing ?
It's the same in every type of racing, the drivers that are supported directly by the factory always have the new stuff first. It's their J O B to test and come up with new things to make the car/truck faster. It's not our job because we're not skilled enough to do it. Make sense.....

According to the AE info (from their blank pistons) the #2 piston uses a #55 hole. Typically when you drill a piston hole it has a little more damping than a molded hole... Im not sure if he was after a tiny bit more pack but Id say he started off with a blank piston (or a #3) and drilled it out.

Maybe someone from the team can confirm??

I noticed that Cragg used a #3 Ghea piston, so I think the team were trying for a bit more pack for the big jumps.

The 2.5deg rear toe-in was a surprise, as from the guys I talked to who attended the worlds, it was a low grip surface. Maybe it helped the cars rotate through the esses more smoothly?

Looking forward to testing my B4+8mm soon...

Good! I had an uneasy, queasy feeling running TLR wheels on the rear.

Thanks Ray, I appreciate the info. I noticed Cragg's setup too. What does he mean Ghea piston? Is that a brand name?

For those that dont want to spend the money on a new chassis, here is another option. I've tested it at a technical and busy( lots of kids ) track with no issues other than a broken hinge pin after clipping a pipe ( it was a drill blank from work and NOT an AE hinge pin). Compared to the last time I ran it, cornering seems a bit improved and the car jumps alot better. This modification lengthens the wheelbase by 6mm yet retains the stock body and chassis. By doing this the weight is moved closer to the center of the chassis. I've never been a big fan of a motor hanging off the back, but then again, I'm only an armchair engineer that doesn't follow trends and can't leave anything alone.

This was something I did rather quickly the other day before hitting the track. I will be making some spacers to more accurately set the wheelbase.

Ghea is a Swedish machine shop that makes RC racing accessories. The pistons are tapered and range in sizes from 1-4.
