SC10 4x4 Thread

Dude... How did you get that from the post that you quoted? This made absolutly no sence what-so-ever.

I blew my truck up today, partially so I could say I did it, partially to more closely examine the slipper, and partially because I had some time to kill. Anyway, I wanted to report back what I found.
1. My slipper back plate will slide all the way to the other slipper back plate with the spur removed, so I didn't have the burr other users reported. Anyone who is serious about the SC10 4x4 should just buy the Mac The Knife slipper basket. I'm 100% certain whatever solution AE comes up with will have additional frictional surface area (aka a bigger clutch!), and it you don't want to wait, just buy the darn thing. It's the only aftermarket part that is a must have IMO.
2. I have a deep seeded dislike for the servo mounts, that is, I disliked them putting them together and now that I've ran it, I like them even less. Mine readjusted itself (I assume because I hit something, but it might of been because I had the screws under tension and crushed the air gap) and it caused the servo horn to hit on center on part of the chassis. I added some shims that were about .030 in the air gap of the adjusted servo mounts and tightened the screws down some more. Which begs the question - why not just provide shims in the first place?
3. I am going to put the truck back together with a 6.5 540 motor so I can rescale it, but also so I can see what the big deal is between the 540 and 550 motors.
Back to work!

I was at the race and asked Ty and Saxton about that, and if they've considered running the slipper basket. They just lock up the slipper and don't have any issues with it.

For those with the clutch basket how far down did you tighten the slipper, as well as those with the FT AE swaybar's which bar do you recommend to use on front/rear for a tight indoor hard-packed clay track? Thanks
