What pinion would be good for that setup?

And is the rs-pro a Tekin motor?
Start with a 22t. The RS pro is a ESC.

Ah - my mistake; an ESC of course

The used RC market here in Norway is pretty slim, so I'd have to buy a new one. Does the performance / quality ratio justify the the price jump, you think? ($200 vs $300)

300 for a Tekin RS Pro?!

If you're not going below 5.5 turns (you probably never will with this vehicle), also compare with the price of a Tekin RS. You really don't need the Pro unless you're running lower-turn motors. In the US you can usually get an RS for ~$170, and they might be popular enough to buy used, which could also save you some...

Well, for the ESC/Motor combo @ A main - yup! (I suppose you assumed $300 just for the ESC, that would have been another story..)

But I will look into the RS (non-pro) as well.
You guys have preferences regarding setup/tuning of the two ESC's? Which one is easier to adjust / connect to a laptop?

Thanx for all replies so far - where would we all be without forums and helpful people?

Thanks again! I love a clean set-up also :-)
I removed the heat shrink and left the ESC in it's position.

I will say one thing with the B44.1 I need that Hotwire set-up because the lag is killing me coming out of the corners and on initial take off.

Too bad I have a Mac, should have looked at the tuning requirements first.
Doh

I have a Mac, too - no worries if you use something like VmWare, Parallels Desktop or VirtualBox to run Windows alongside your OS X.

Most ESC manufacturers don't support Mac, sadly - but just Google the software I mentioned above, and you're good to go

I didn't even think of that!
Thanks

32/48/64 pitch, or .6 / 1 mod?

Definitely look at the RS/8.5 combo, or the RS plus any sensored motor. I run a Viper VST 10.5 with an RS in mine, which costs the same as a combo. Some motors are less than the $80 difference, too.

But I will look into the RS (non-pro) as well.

The both Tekin ESCs are the same, and easy.

Would a center one-way for the NTC3 work on a B44, and if so would it allow the car to act more like a 2wd in the air?? obviously when you apply throttle in the air it will still bring the nose up fast, but will the front still dive as bad when you let off the throttle to much?? everywhere else on the track the car is golden to me.. so I don't wanna change the set-up too much...

Set up and adjustability is the exact same with both. My son and I both have run 6.5 and now 7.5 on RS only with no issues at all. The motor will get too hot before the esc even gets close. Save your money.

I can see that I was unclear when I asked for info on adjustment / setup options - I meant Tekin vs Novak, not RS vs RS-pro. Don't think I will go for the Novak, though - you guys (and a couple of other threads in here) convinced me to go Tekin

Thanx for all replies regarding motor / esc, now I just need to know what type of 22t pinion to get.. (see post #429)

Tekin is very nice.. I had them in my Kyosho's... Now i run speed passion which is much cheaper and the same control.. I cant see much difference at all. just an option, for the B44 you would need the GT2.0 PRO.

side note.. for those of you running Kyosho velvet shocks what springs are you using? indoor dirt/clay tracks mostly, med traction and mostly smooth with jumps

48 pitch... the included spur gear in the AE kit is 48 pitch.
