SC10 4x4 Thread

I tried my tekin 7.5 540 motor with a 13mm rotor in it today and holy cow, I'm sticking with this combo. Same lowend torque as my LRP 5.5 550 motor, more top end, and ran cooler. Hottest it got was 145 all day long and the battery was only taking back in between 1600 and 1700 mah after a 6 minute run on our indoor track.

Bare code is better but it seems thar subculture are the best for the track and truck

They really bit into the track well whether the track dried out or was watered down a little. I'm eager to drive this on something more grippy and prepared.
I so can't wait to run this again, I think I'm gonna run it again in Lakeland tomorrow at another track. This stupid grin on my face cannot go away.
My only gripe is that it needs a cover to prevent all the dirt getting inside other than that I'm all

So far I've tried these motors:
Castle 3800KV 1410
Castle 2400KV 1415
Tacon 6.5t sensored motor (Just wanted to see how this motor was since it is sensored)
So far the 3800kv ran the best and stayed the coolest, the tacon motor actually held its own compared to the castles, but just wasn't strong enough to push a 4x4 sct for long.....
Soon gonna drop in my tekin 5.5 motor to see how it compares as well.....
But I def. wanna try out tekin's new 4pole sensored motor when it comes out........
I also only run gold barcodes at my local indoor hard packed clay track, and they perform great, but I wanna see how subcultures or switches do as well.....
Still trying to find the sc10's 4x4 sweet spot with different setups.......

hello,
I have read this entire thread and it helped greatly in my SC10 4x4 build. I am going to put in my RX8/Novak 550 5.5t/Spectrum RX/TX Monday&plan to go to the track after a quick test run outside. I watched chris's VID while building as well as all the TIPS on the 1st page of this thread&other tips for the build. I am going to read the OFFICIAL thread after this but i have a few Q's, and will just start with my 1st 2q's now, so that I am not overwhelming with Q's.
-I do not know if I am going to have the slipper issue, until I run. But, what is the correct Measurement in MM, for the SLIPPER THRUST SPACER suppose to be?? I know they were possibly machined wrong, so I would like to know before hand, if I need to add any washers. Also, if i know the correct measurement, I will know how many washers I need to add.?.
-I am going to get the HT slipper pads, but for the inner Stock pad:
Does it have to line up perfectly in the HEX slot on the inside? It is very hard to get it to stay perfectly in the slot while sliding it on. I guess i could put alil black grease on the inner Slipper Pad, but does it have to sit perfectly in the HEX, or is it ok, just being on the inside of the SPUR?
AND, when I get the HT pad, am I only suppose to use HT pad on the outside?? I think I read that on the 1st thread.
THX and i will have more Q's after these are answered.

as for the pad yes it MUST be in the spur hex and try holding spur and tilting truck. using gravity.

It was a different layout from last time I raced so I couldn't compare and I was maidening my SC10 this week so I didn't have time to do back to back motor tests. When Mikes uploads the results onto their website I can tell you what I was turning, I think I was hitting low 22's for laptimes.

Thx Fast,
but A) how can u even see if the PAD is in the HEX perfectly? Once the SPUR is on, u cannot see if it is in the HEX perfectly.
I read here that some ppl have grease the pad? Can I put a lil amount of grease to hold it in place?
Also, 2.90MM is the width correct? The full width or the width of the spacer not including the part that fits into the slot??(not sure what that lil section the fits in is called.)
I figure if i order more SLIPPER HARDWARE #91090, i could use a 2nd slipper washer, instead of just finding a washer that fits. I know the inside of the slipper thrust washer is 6mm, so if i have to I could find it.

Unless you are running on a bigger track I can't see needing a bigger motor thank the Castle 1410.
I would love to see how my truck does on a big 1/8 scale track.
