between 25-35* just depends on track conditions. on high bite i will go as far as 40 but never max it out.

just remember dont boost to much
make sure the boost timing and can timing dont exceed 60* together or run the risk of over revving the motor.

our boost feture creates a CRAP load of rpm super fast! so testing is key.

In rc cars a four pole design isn't necessarily better, and in our opinion this two pole design is better for the intended application and desired performance.

I will give you guys a more technical answer soon on the differences between a two and four pole design
Kind of like a 2 stroke and 4 stroke dirt bike then ?

I wouldn run boost on an 8.5 but I could give you a gearing option for non boost that you might like'. 18/84. Its a proven ratio. try it out.

Without boost it should be good. Check temps after and report please. Im curious cause I haven't tried it yet. But we have drivers who have.

I'm looking at a VTX10R to replace my RX8 (the RX8 has too large of a footprint in my application), but having read a few pages, it sounds like more than a couple are DOA or shortly thereafter. I'm curious if it's a few people having problems (like when the RX8s first came out) and if when you get it back, if you had continued problems or if they were remedied. As long as if there is a problem it can be fixed quickly and stay fixed, this seems like an ideal ESC for my setup.

turn around time has been less then 7days on rma projects.

we had a couple esc's out of the batch come up doa after leaving our facility.

Weylin has commented on the new batch being more stable and less likley to fail.

If you stick to 2s and dont over gear it or solder it poorly, they work good. The first run had some flaws but we got them iorned out. we have an 8th sale speedo that will be smaller than rx8 and it will be a better fit for the losi imo. Im running a vtx 10r and vst xl 5.5, havent had any issues. 14-16 tooth pinion.

I'm actually running a Durango and with the RX8 in there, there really isn't much room for a receiver.I like that the Viper is smaller and lighter than the RX8 and overall should fit MUCH better. Guess I'll get one on order once amain gets them back in and give it a shot.
