Hi,

I thought I'd stir up an old thread for some advice.

I got me a.used mr21 b01a and wow this thing is off the hook. Running it with sirio 2013 pipe and 7mm restrictor. I'm always on the track after evryone runs out of fuel so good mileage around 8-10 mins.

I have found the engine of my dreams, but trying to find a p&l and rod that is in stock is becoming a real bad dream.

Anyone know where I should be looking?

I've been looking at amain and they have the tq liners that I think will work?

Piston an liner of a GRP tuned will fit. That means the piston and liner of a Tq/Tecnopower B01/G5 will fit aswell. The rod of an GRP tuned will not fit as the MR ninja has a slightly smaller crankpin compared to the GRP tuned.

A GRP made Boss .21 rod will fit tho...that is your best bet as the MR ninja rods are an unoptanium nowadays. The GRP made Boss was a near copy of the MR ninja.

Here's some parts (ships internationaly)

Hi Ambros,

Thanks for the info that's great stuff. I thought the Grp mills were identical internally. Thanks for the heads up ref rod differences.

What do u think about the 7 port liner for off road? It's the only one in stock from rc models.

Are the tq and technopower rods the same as the ninja mr21?

Thanks again.

The TQ and Tecnopower rods are the same as the GRP tuned and as such will not fit the MR ninja (bottom rod bushing will be slightly too big for the MR ninja crank pin).

Don't know about the 7 port liner...it's used in the Rally version aswell. Will most likely give more power up top but less bottom end...Just get a Tq, Tecnopower B01 or Ascendancy G5 piston and liner...timings are identical afaik and will fit the MR ninja block

Hi Ambros,

I found this link on mr21 rods, but won't let me paste url as I've not reqched the rewind for this forum. Google 501489-ninja-21-conneting-rod

They are suggesting the on road Grp tq techopower rod will work?

Does this sound plausable?

Cheers,

H

I used to have both the MR ninja and the GRP tuned (still have the tuned) and the rod of the ninja wouldn't fit over the GRP crankpin (lower bushing too small). The GRP rod would fit over the Ninja crankpin but (too) sloppy

Since the Tq/Tecnopower rods are identical to the GRP tuned rods they will be too sloppy aswell.

When i still had the ninja i tried looking for rods aswell, thats how i found out the GRP Boss rod will fit: ordered one and turned out it was identical to a ninja rod

Hi,

Sons of bees they have to complicate issues with technicallities why not keep the bushing dimensions the same... They're mass produced anyways....

Where did you order the boss rod from? Still can't find anything boss related.

Thanks

Default Ninja Falcon Boss Grp

Ebay item number- 320688425775

Hey guys I've been hunting down a reasonably priced p&l and rod for well over a week now and doing the maths.

I found a guy selling brand new Grp falcon, so he claims. But I heard a rumour about copies of these mills. Does the link look like a genuine deal. The crank case looks identical...

Also were there tuned versions of the falcon as with Grp's line up. I.e. silver and gold heads?

If this guys items are legitimate then econimically speaking I may aswell get a new one.

All input welcome. Any links to the real falcon would be great I can't find jack about it.

Thanks guys

GRP Falcon:

There were special Mario Rossi tuned editions of the GRP Boss/Falcon/Ninja engines. Recognisable by the magnesium cooling heads.

Heres one (rally version of the Falcon, but you get the idea)

I have a TQ Speed Lab 501 engine for sale. This engine is basically a GRP Tuned clone with a different cooling head. It is brand new and still factory sealed. Take a look if you're interested.
