Hey guys,

I'm thinking of changing to savox for 1/8 on road. The SH - 1290MG are what I'm looking at, anyone had experience with these? Or what is anyone else using for 1/8 on road?

Default Having Problems with Savox

Hello,

I was installed a brand new Savox 1257 in with a MMP esc and Futaba 2PL TX/RX and when I power everything on, the Savox jumps around on its own and is not responsive. I put a used Savox 1258 that I had in and it did the same thing. Plugged in a JR9000s and it was fine.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

John

The savox servos draw a lot of volts and are causing your receiver to lose power. If you have the castle link, go into the advanced settings and change the BEC power to 6.0v (its set at 5.5 stock). I have a spektrum radio and run the spektrum capacitor (like $6). It has basically solved my problems but every once and a while I get a glitch. I;m thinking about purchasing a Castle Creations BEC, I hear that it solves the problem completely

Thats been my experience to a "T". If i would work the servo fast left/right/left/right, id get a glitch every now and again with the cap, my castle BEC @ 6.0v works great.

LiFe works great with both, lipo you'll probably need voltage reg for the 1258

What BEC are you using? I don't see how voltage could be the problem. If I remember correctly the servos you mentioned are rated for between 4.8 and 6 volts. However, these servos draw a lot of current, and that will cause your receiver to glitch if your BEC is not up to the task. A 3 amp external BEC might do the trick, but the Castle BEC is even better since it can handle more current draw and the voltage is adjustable.

So is anyone running the new high voltage style Savox servos yet? Any comments on them?

Guys, I got the same issue here with a 1257 it just got, what is the Castle BEC? I will check the voltage setting with the link.
I've got a Spektrum SR300 RX and Castle Sidewinder and get the glitches when L to R fast, also the motor glitches on and off at the same time.
Thanks

I finally got to run my truggy with a 1258 on the throttle. It works great and a lot of the noise went away once it broke in.

What are your thoughts on the 1256TG as a steering servo on a 1/8 Buggy? Looking to get one and wanted to see some thoughts on this servo in that application.
