just got a pr. of 1258's for my 1/8 gas buggy. My question is this....I am using a SR300 reciever and dx3r transmitter, am I going to have glitch issues like everyone else is experiencing in EP cars?

On a side note in my TLR xxxCR I ran a Spektrum s6040(same thing as savox) and I had to run a external Spektrum cap to make glitches go away with a Tekin RS. I am aware of the problem and have experienced it...but in my gascar, I wont have a empty spot in my rx for a external cap.....I've never had to worry about this in the past, It kind of makes me wish I would have went for different servos as it would have been one less thing to worry about.....please share your thoughts.

i ran into that problem in my jammin scrt, had to use a CC BEC, it doesent require a extra spot on receiver and is programable from 6v to 9.6v., are you useing in a nitro or electric buggy? nitro you wont have a problem

I just ordered a Savox 1258tg for my TLR 22 and I too will be running a Tekin RS. Someone at the local track mentioned something about power issues with the Savox/Spektrum servos with the Tekin ESC. Will a power cap on the receiver be the best fix? I will be using a Spektrum 3500 micro receiver and DX2S until I can get my hands on a DX3R Pro in the summer.

Thanks

The problem is only with electric cars where crappy BECs cannot supply the required current to the servos, causing the voltage to drop which results in glitching. Your big receiver pack will have no trouble supplying those servos will all the current they could ever want.

It just depends on whether the BEC in the Tekin is up to the job. If the Tekin BEC with a cap is insufficient then you will need a good external BEC like the Castle BEC.

Thanks for the buggy servo info. Trevor- I too worried about that same issue after I bought the servos and then started reading. Looks like we are good in nitro side using these servos with the spektrum radio.

yes, the Spektrum external cap will fix that problem...I did it early in the winter indoor 1/10 season and not a single glitch since then.

Thanks for asking this Trevor, I also just bought 2 1258TGs and a DX3R pro for my nitro buggy and was concerned about these glitching issues too. From the limited research that I have done on this it sounds like, in theory, running a LiFe pack should also help vs nimh.

Also, if you end up needing a capacitor, you can run a Y harness on one of the ports in your rx...

oh wow....that's AWESOME bro!

Viper R/C Solutions products are dialed out!

I like the feature that allow's you to tune esc profiles and parameters without the need to unplug from the reciever like I used to have to
