Good to see Team Viper doing well at Cactus Classic 2011. All the best for Roar Carpet Nats 2011...

[QUOTE=mini-dub;8843015]Still hoping for May availability on the 1/8 systems. The latest testing on the VSE motors is going VERY well Huge improvements, huge power, and we're still not even done refining them

How are they handling the rigors of 1/8 and their huge tracks? I hope they don't shut down and break after landing a big triple like another company I know of.

Has production started on the 1/10 esc's now that you have a new name for them? I got 2 Durangos that need the Viper esc treatment.

Durability is the most important aspect for our 1/8 system, or any of our products for that matter.

The 1/10 esc's will be along very shortly. The esc's are complete, just combining all the final steps now.

Yes it just stopped dead, been keeping an eye on the temps and it never been over 75-76 degrees celsius (sorry don't know the fahrenheit value).
It have always had the strange smell but i was told that was just normal.
It broke down in the middle of the 2nd qualifier when i was leading around 4
minutes in the heat.
We race on high grip carpet, i used the viper 6,5 in my good ol' TRF 501xwe,
using AE 87t slipper and 18t pinion.
Before i got the viper i used a Tekin redline 6,5 and it reached much higher temps then the viper. Compared to the Tekin motor my viper was smokin' fast!

Those temps you told me are in the 150-170* F range, no danger at all. And yes the smell is normal. I'm quite sure it's your sensor, let me know if you're able to find a motor checker and we'll get you fixed up right away

gonna start out with a viper 8.5 in my desc410r with a rx8(til the vtx10r comes out), which torque rotor would work best, racing on a small indoor track

please keep a close eye on temps within the speed control.

the vtx10 and 8.5 in a sc truck might run hot.

Yeah Im going to start with 3 min runs and then gear accordingly. Luckily with the setup Im running I am able to keep the truck very light.

Set your thermal temps to 230* on the motor and esc cutoff, that way if anything is overloaded or being worked too hard it will still protect it from damage. F,N, and R led's flash for esc thermal. F and R led's flash for motor thermal.
