Everyone,
In the spirit of RC tech's best thread (RC8be thread); I too will carry on the tradition of posting up the final pictures of my newly completed RC8be.
I am ordering the skid plates and the dust guards. Otherwise, she's pretty much done!
BTW, I want to do a cammie paint job like the one I've attached into this post. Different colors, but the same concept. Does anyone have any clue how to make this pattern happen?
And to all that have assisted me in this build with my questions and sharing all of your knowledge:
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With the Grid mount too if I had 2 motors, I would buy another motor plate so I didn't have to swap them back and forth. Then it's like a 60 second motor change.

Agreed, the stock mount is great. Never a problem in 1.5 years on my SC8BE and I've bashed that thing to death on indoor clay. Sounds like a waist of $72 to me. Oh well.

I'm going to have to see how to adjust that. This is what the car looks like from all of the instructions followed.
The wiring:
Too far back? I'm not sure why this would be....
This type of set up I found the wiring to be out of the way of the gear mesh; and also to be the least amount of stress on the solder points.

a. Worth the peace of mind (perhaps you're lucky or don't run your car hard enough for your motor to break loose out of the stock mount)
b. Worth the ease of meshing and swap out
c. Is just built like a rock and light weight.
Waste of $72 bucks? Maybe to some... definitely not me and probably most others who own this mount.
Good point. I'll probably get another mount when I'm ready to buy a bashing motor.

i kinda feel personally that the mount has alot to do with how hard the buggy is pounded on.
Some of us are more carefull drivers and that may be case but then again we all crash
I want to see how the stock mount is after seeing the price of the grid mount. 10 years of tool and die I may be able to some up with something but that mount just looks beefy so i will see how much time I will have messin around vs just buying a mount if I see necessary still waiting for the buggies arrival

Thanks Gregg. I did opened up the hole with a bit. Worked good. I also just opted to use the horn that came with the servo. Yeah, we have the same one. Looks pretty heavy duty. I think it'll work well.
