what is a comparable plug to the recommended CT6 in a P5?
I am dabbling back into nitro after a running electrics and you (and I) can say I am a noob again. I did not have good luck with the recommended Nova plugs when I used to run over 2 years ago...the OD and OS plugs seemed to be much better for me back then.
I run in TX with 50%-80% humidity if that matters.

the newer c6tgc plugs are pretty good , a touch on the cool side and a lil harder to tune but make great power .
let me know if you need anything

OK..school me

How do you know whether to use a Hot or medium plug? are there general nitro rules to live by?

higher temp is supppose to equal to cooler plug (not cold but medium) but high humidity can fill the combustion chamber with unburnable moisture drawn from the air which in my findings it has been found that keeping with a medium hot will help ignite the fuel better as well as keeping with the cooler plug and lowering deck heighth (shimming) .
cooler temps is supposed to equal hotter plug , usually stick with the medium hot and have no issues . 97t fits the bill in most all situations that is why it is highly recommended .

that's a personal preference for the most part, it depends on driving style, run time needed, performance needed, track size etc.....Monty will elaborate more Im sure.

OK thanks and last question. I have the RC8B with this P5X and a dynamite 86HS pipe but the pipe is too short. I need a longer pipe. Would the 9901 be a better fit?
how about the Reedy pipes. They seem longer too but don't know if that would work that great as the 9901 or 86
reedy 2035 or 2039
