EB Mods JS Engine
#1129
For last night's practice at the track, I ran an 8mm venturi for the first time. I had always ran a 6.5 RB venturi in my full mod since I got it. I ALWAYS made 10 min pits in buggy at every track. I assumed I was gonna get like 8-9 min run time last night. Instead, I came in at 10min 20sec for fuel the whole night
The added power was amazing and Im not sure exactly how much my run time on this brutal-for-mpg style track was cut compared to the 6.5, but Ill test again. I had been getting around 11min 30 with the 6.5. Since it was practice and not racing, I am gonna try the 7.5 and see how solid 10 min pits are on a real race day at this track.

I think the Stock JS is very under rated. The JS engineers and myself worked very hard to get the Stock JS Racing engine to have a nice usable power curve with the best possible runtime. Port design on the case and sleeve, timing profiles in the crank and sleeve, and the case volume were just a few things we played with to dial the JS engine in. If you are interested in a $200 price range engine please don't over look the Stock JS.
I'm trying to get the Stock JS engines down to the $200 price range but it's the extra time that I put into each engine that cost more. What a lot of people don't know is that I inspect every stock engine I sell, along with adjusting the head clearance and testing and setting the carburetors up. It's not really a "Box Stock" engine as the head clearance is set conservative from the factory, along with the Carburetors.
Stock engine:
Full engine inspection
Head Clearance set ( Number engraved on bottom of case by me represents the head clearance.)
Carburetors flow tested and adjusted.
Engines are then resealed in heat shrink, boxed up and then sealed with an EBMods box seal.

Ok so I ordered one of these bad boys, I really hope it doesn't disappoint. To be honest the only engine I have loved thus far has been my 21-4C and it got sent out to be repinched after 6 gallons. SO hopefully I will really like this one and can go .21 and .23 from the same manufacture for the twins. So I plan on running the Race Prep in the truggy for the JBRL this weekend, hopefully I will be able to get another 1/2 gallon through it before then and some tuning done on it. I have a AE 2035 pipe, Dyn 086 and a Dyn 053 (which I plan to run on the buggy). I run OD97 plugs in my Nova and others as they have worked well so far.
So which pipe? and will that plug work with SoCal weather?

The Dynamite 086 (2041 is optimum) and an OS P5. The P5 beause of the higher air temps and humidity over that way. P4 if it cools down enough. Personally I would use only the OS plugs in these engines, as the O'D and maybe others will thread the button to O'D theads. After that point you won't be able to use anything but the O'D plugs, which don't perform in this mill as well as the OS's do.

so i got a full mod. was running rich first runs and was getting good power but was bummed with pushing to get 8 minutes out of a tank. so nice to just run and not worry about breakin. now 2 races in and properly tuned getting 13.5 on a tank and very decent power. about a gallon in and its coming to life. stoked

I had a great weekend with my JS motors at the Wiregrass Indoor Nationals. I finished 3rd in buggy and 10th in truggy out of 15 in the A-main. I got cought up in a 3rd turn traffic jam, and someones truggy hit the flywheel while I was upside down and killed the motor. I was a lap down when I got restarted and back on the track.
Buggy and truggy both had more than enough power for the track. I couldn't be happier with my motors after 3 1/2 gallons on my buggy and 2 1/2 on my truggy.
I am running the full mods in both with the 086 pipe and p5 plugs and 30% EB Fuel. This setup as recommended is a potent combo with great power all the way through and good runtime. Run time depends on your trigger finger and the track of course. We had some monster car swallowing holes and some really soft sand at the track this weekend so a healthy dose of throttle was constantly needed to climb out of them.
A big thanks to Ed and Joe for the support.
