Screw came out easily enough. Now i have another issue. I took the carb off and noticed alittle irregularity just inside the bottom of the carb. There was a little chunk of plastic sticking out, or some of the plastic was dug into. Anyhow i took my dremel to make it smooth with a buffing pad but that didn't do any good. Instead of polishing the inside it actually scuffed it up. I was using the softest pad i had to buff it but somehow it just scuffed up the entire inside of the carb, the bottom 1/4" is like this. Anyhow i have no idea how thats going to affect performace. I guess i'll just spend the $35 and get a new carb :/
I have a older 5 port, I believe that I have been told it is a gen 5 with the black case with a silver head without the fancy design on the top of the head. Where can a guy find a new rod to work with this? I noticed when I pulled it apart that the crank pin and rod have a bit of slop between them, and for the price of the go rods I figured I would just change it. Also what would be the recommended plug to use in it? It's a turbo head, but I think I might be having a problem with the button so if you could reccommend a turbo plug and a standard I would appriciate it. Thanks
Hey Hodog
to be able to check what part has the slop in it we would have to measure the components. Regardless if you want to revive that Gen 5 you would be best off getting a new crank and rod as they would be a matched pair. The Gen 5.5 GX Crank and Rod will work in that Gen 5 no probs.
Have a look for your local Go Dealer for parts, Part numbers you need are
Crank 21-0907T-03
Rod 21-0600

Yes its already been 1 year since the release of the MG66 in August 2009 and since we have sold over 500 units and had incredible user feedback to critical acclaim ! Its a top little motor and we are proud of its achievements and indeed the race drivers that run the engine and bring it over the line to victory so many times !
Happy B Day MG 66 ! and thank you for your support !

so is that a yes?...i dont want to keep running it if it needs new bearings!....when the bearings go out,its usually a reaaallly high pitch squeel? or does it start squeeling alittle then gets higher pitch as it gets worse?...or do these just naturally sound like this?....i looked up these motors on youtube and they all sound kind of like this but hard to tell on youtube!
Hey Magpie, I will have to get one of them 7072 pipes to try

:lolDont forget the good old 0801 pipe
the wife has one on her GX5 with a GO T6 plug in her Truggy and you have seen the run time she gets.DEADMANCOURT: IMO I think the GOs have a sound of there own and with mine I would say the 0801 pipe sounds a bit louder than the 2072
