Would the Mugen one not be the same? All made by Novarossi. Possible they have the same nut also.

Have you ever run a race at the VORRA club in Richmond Va?

What plug number do you guys recommend I use with my new NS12S3 with 20% Byron's fuel?? Outside temps range from around 15-25 celcius. Thanks.

I run 30% Byron's and have been using 6TC plugs in it.

It was a bear to get the tune right, but now she's honkin'! Although I still have problems with it dying coming into the pits.

I suppose that this question was too stupid. Why is it that when I make anykind of question in this frum no one wants to answer? Anyway this is getting to frustrating for me so you won I wont ask anything else.

Maybe because nobody has an opinion about this engine.

The RR's are not readily available in the US (thanks Ernie) and if people have RR's they will most like have a 3 port.

But here's your chance to leave a mark in the RC world.

Try it and le us know what YOU think about it.

How's that?

Is a great engine, take a lot of time running it in. I will be running it on Revelation next week so will see how it compares with other engine.

Best "stock" engine money can buy so far...
Been using it for very first time last week.
With same car, same layout, same ratio and same pipe my best lap is only .2 sec lower than if using MAX3MF.
Thats all..

RR12L5.....

This engine is excellent, 710 or mtx3 with NSR 3 or 5 ports have problem keeping up with this engine. I have been keeping up with 1/8th drivers ( i also race 1/8th, and these drivers like myself normally are in the A final ) at my club with this engine. The acceleration is awesome (you have to set the clutch and gearing right first).

Default NSR 12 S3 Ceramic Bearings

Has anyone tried the ceramic bearings in this engine yet and was there any noticeable performance gains to justify the cost ?

Cheers

Mark

Default NS12 S5 vs RB similar

I have a NovaRossi NS12 S5, Its hardly broken in but it already shows his powerful spirit.

I'm shopping for a second engine for my second car and inclined for an RB V12 not rody tuned. the guys at RB forum are too tunnel visioned to be able to accept that there's something else than Rb's out there... RB's are great, no doubt... I have a .21 WS7II and I love it... but ..?

Anybody here with the knowledge and the gift of been able to impartiality that can give me his opinion?

Thanks

Engine Break In

My new Novarossi for nitro sedan is on the way. I'm new to gas and need opinions on the best way to break this engine in. I've heard lots of different ways. Thanks for any input.

Like you say, there are many ways and opinions but the concepts are similar;
Run first tanks very rich - Gas spitting out of exhaust pipe - keep temps at 80/90C first couple of tanks and 100 a few more; Let engine cool down between tanks to get temperature cycles through it.
When you actually run your car the first times make sure there's a lot of smoke comming out of the pipe... have fun going around some parking lot with some short bursts of speed making sure you got lots of smoke.

The worst thing that happened to me braking in an engine was forgetting to raise the antenna of the TX... The car ran away with that little new engine at a millon RPM'S And me running after it like a fool...

Cheers
