cox049- I have a NS12S5 and that is the best engine i have ever bought. The Rb's are reliable (i'm not sayin the nova..'s arent') but they just don't have the ummpphhh (go) that the NS does. I won't go back

Good to hear that I have your same engine. I've only ran about 7 tanks through it in a 3 week period and its still very tight, but it revs like crazy

One thing I noticed today is that it picks up lots of heat... I was running it today around a pking lot with 4 1/2 turns on the top and when measured the temp it was 280F @25% nitro

What's your experience with temps and needle settings on this engine?

As far as I have seen... they only make some in the 5 ports version. Trinity auctioned one on ebay more than a year ago. There are some in Asia as well. In general the M. Rossi version are not for sale on the 12s.

You might want to buy a Max Power or JP instead.

most rossi mods I've seen were black crank cases... with an engraved signature on the side

Talking NSR12S3 or RS12S1TR

I race in Vegas at the Silverbowl Raceway. The temps get up to 115 in the summers. (It's already over 90). I was wondering which engine would be better. I can get both within $10 of each other. I read that the NSR12 likes to run hot. Because of that would it be a better engine in Vegas? How do they compare? Also considering Sirio EVO2.

Thanks

I'm not sure on those engines to be honest.. but, the temps shouldn't be a problem..

if they are you can get a cylinder head from odonnel, king, nocer.. or an other quality brand...

It gets that hot here also... and I've had no trouble.. I ran my engine with a stock head and it was 118 out.. no problem at all

Hi,

i've taken out all the needles of my carb cleaned it and but it back together but I can't get it to run again. I go with the stock settings then lean it to a point where it runs quite good but it stalls after a few laps. It doesn't overheat actually it is still cold. One thing that i noticed that after I run it on 1/4 throtlle and than push the triger to the end it seems to get very rich for a moment and almost stalls and than goes well at the top end until it stalls again any bright ideas???

it sounds like a fuel pressure problem to be honest.. maybe you got something in the carb when you cleaned it..

could be a leak.. did you seal the carb when you reinstalled it?

don't concern yourself with ports...

I would wait to have someone run it first to see how it is
