Doesn't matter if is on their stock incarnation, the Mario Rossi one (a very mild mod) or a balls out modified one. Performs like a champ and is a sure bet if you're planning to get one of those engines.
Probably are on the market engines with more power, more rpms or both, but the R1 is a reliable, quick and ¿Cheap? engine who performs very well at the track, doesn't matter if is a Nova R1 or the Rex PR21 (some people likes more this engine because has a slightly bigger crankcase and more solid (doesn't have cooling fins on their lower portion of the crankcase).

another NS3 question
I recently bought a spare p/s set for my NS12S3A1. The "book" calls for an 08604, BUT the spare sent to me was an 08606. I emailed Novarossi (still no response after a week), and talked to Trinity tech guys. Trinity says they have no listing for the 08606 and have no idea what it fits. Their book also says 08604 is the correct part #, but their site says the 08604 is for the RS series engines. Trinity says they THINK the difference between the 08604 & 08606 is one of them is AAC, the other ABC, but not positive.
The place I bought the p/s set from tells me the 08606 is what their "book" calls for as the correct set for the NS12S3.
Does anyone know which one is correct??? I thought the NS12S3 was an ABC engine and the NSR12 was the AAC ???

The NS12 has a machined piston, the NSR12 has the micro cast pistion (darker material)
The NS12 has the same p/s sleeve than the RS12, so you got the right part.
Nova Rossi does not have a AAC .12 yet, they just started with .21's.
Trinity SUCKS!

That's cool, thanks. I finally found on Novarossi's site a parts listing for the NS12S3. It lists the 08606 as the correct p/s set for the NS12S3. I couldn't find any info on the RS engines though.
But that just shows the difference in manuals. My manual that came with my engine says the 08604 is correct, but the Nova site says the 08606 is correct.

Hey guys, I noticed some online RC shops selling the Nova RX21 "WMO" edition (long stroke).
What engine is this?
I heard rumours it is a cut price P5???

Hi COX, I have as yet not run the motor in, I bouhgt a run in bench from Serpent. You must remember that you MUST run the engin in with the fuel you will race the motor with, nothing else, and watch the temp. I would suggest you follow all the other recommendations of Novarossi, except for fuel. Remember that they need to make considerations for the people that live on farms and use tractor oil as oil in the fuel... I use 16% nitro (nothing else is race legal here)

Bingo! That is the WMO engine base on the old old RACE perhaps 2000. Novarossi has changed their crank case twice since then. It has nothing to do with the P5. We ran one of those on club days 3 yrs ago. It worked ok compares to everyone's engine at the time. Then the rod split and broke the engine. At the price, it was not worth rebuilding it so it went into the bin.
The only common they have with the P5 is the plastic carb.

So I guess its better to spend an extra U$90 and get a *real* Nova - i.e. 421B?

I tried ordering it through Serpent, Lee said they're back-ordered. I was hoping to hear of someone different.
I stuck your's in the mail yesterday, Stefan. I got the engine out, looked up and you were gone?!?
