Although the engine now has more power down low then stock it still has a very "linear/smooth" feel. It no longer comes on hard and falls off on power so quickly in the higher RPM range.... Which makes it have less of an on and off switch feel.

Cool REEDY21 AIRLEAK?

Just curious, anyone out there who is running the reedy, and has had probs
with airleaks from carby, where it bolts to crankcase? some guy`s here in south oz, have had an issue with this, after purchasing from factory..they
say that the carb insulator does not expand very well, within carb housing, and apparently causes it to leak from this area? Any feedback appreciated.....

I just ordered my Reedy, and i am going from GRP's so i should notice a huge bottom change. I am just worried that 2 years of GRP tuning has messed with my head to much.

yea you have to seal the carb gasket to the block and the carb to the gasket. I use the Racers edge carb sealant which is just RTV

I wonder if it was super lean on the bottom and fat on the top? Seems like when I've heard of people having trouble like that, the balance of the two needles was way off.

AE has great customer service, so they should be able to resolve it quickly for you.

lucky2, sorry it didn't work out, they'll get you fixed up. If the carb sealed ok and the backplate, the only other thing it could be is possibly a bearing failure, if the bearing fails, it can suck air, meaning that you can keep fattening it but it leans out through the bearing.
